Who: Ordo Ineptus, and anyone else that wants to come!
What: Three-game 2000pt WH40k Tournament!
Where: Hobbytown, New Milford
When: Nov 19th 10-6
Why: Because you know you want to kill little man-dolls with dice and eat pizza!
$15 entry fee, which includes your pizza!
Thats right, gang! We're going to have A TOURNAMENT! Not a big one, but hey...size doesn't matter!
2000 points of published codex (or WD SOB garbage if you're a masochist). No IA/FW, please. INAT and NOVA FAQs will be used. You may use your new Necrons if you want to, but please be prepared to explain all your tricks, as most of us will not be familiar yet!
NOVA-style missions:
Game 1:
Deployment: Dawn of War
Mission: Primary = Seize Ground; Secondary = Table Quarters; Tertiary = Kill Points; VP Tie-breaker
Game 2:
Deployment: Spearhead
Mission: Primaery = Table Quarters; Secondary = Kill Points; Tertiary = Seize Ground; VP Tie-breaker
Game 3:
Deployment: Pitched Battle
Mission: Primary = Kill Points; Secondary = Seize Ground; Tertiary = Table Quarters; VP Tie-breaker
Kill Points means Kill Points from the manual, with the exception that you must win by at least three Kill Points. If you're not up by 3 or more, KP is considered a Draw, go to next victory condition.
Seize Ground will have five pre-placed objectives; one in the center of each table quarter, and one right in the middle of the table.
Table Quarters are controlled by having the most Victory Points worth of models at the end of the game. Troop choices count as full Victory Points even if below half-strength.
The entry fee will be used to buy pizza, the balance will be used as prizes for First, Second, and Third place. (I'm thinking 50/30/20). Win/Loss record is the primary means of placing, ties will be resolved by overall performance. In other words, the more objectives and KP you earn, the better!!
Now here's the really cool part...this is the first of MONTHLY Ordo tournaments! I'm going to hold one tournament every month, with a different game system each month! December will be WM/H, look for that date soon (hopefully a bit more notice than this one, eh? )
ROLL LOW, ORDO!! ROLL PROUD!
(Note, I intend to set up tables Friday night, so we can come in and start playing right away. I expect we'll have to do 2 hour games, so be prepared to play quickly!)
<edit>BIG NOTE: You must sign up no later than Midnite, Thursday November 17th. Sign up by emailing your list (validation check) to rodaacwgc@gmail.com ! You can pay me in advance or at the door the morning of the event.
<Edit #2>
Maximum Capacity We don't have a lot of tables, nor terrain. For this event I think we'll have to have a maximum of six tables, or 12 people. I'll start a different thread to track the sign-ups.
Proxy I've decided to maximize participation we will allow proxy models. In future events I hope to begin including painting/appearance score for an overall winner, as well as a sportsmanship score. When that starts the painting/appearance score for an army that includes proxy models will be 0. But for now, in this tournament, proxy away! This will allow those new to 40k to participate, as well as those using a newer codex to experiment with their new toys.
One caveat, though. If the proxy you use is "light", for example wargear isn't quite right, or a dreadnought model does not have the right weapons, or you're using cardboard boxes with RAZORBACK written on them as razorbacks...no sweat, that's not too confusing. But if you're using Night Goblins as Deathcult Assassins, and green army men as Paladins, and Rhinos as Chimeras...it can get really hard for your opponent to keep track of what's what. If you intend to use proxy models, please communicate with me via PM about the specifics of what you're proxying, and we'll work together to come up with a way to make it as smooth as possible, maybe even working together as a club to provide models to use. Thank you!
