I started this thread so people can bounce ideas for their armies' flags. As I mentioned in the map thread, what I plan on doing after I've made the map and scanned it in is that I'm going to have a the map image saved as a basic template, and then I'm going to have an MS paint file with a little flag for each player's army that I can copy/paste onto territories on the map to show what territories are currently under the control of which players. Then each week I'll send the latest map file to Eric to post on the site. For this purpose, I encourage players to come up with a design for their main flag/standard that will appear on the map, and use this thread as a sounding board. When it comes time to drawing and painting/coloring your banner, I recommend doing it postcard size, so that way you can get more detail in and then shrink the image later after it has been scanned.

For the army of Lord Horrificus, I'm thinking of going with some sort of a sickly greenish color - since I've got a lot of Nurgle in there - as the main background, with more Slaaneshi colors as the trim or details. Possibly yellow or a reddish purple. I want to have some kind of crest or symbol on there, but I'm still trying to think of what.

Hm, very good idea. I have to think up some good army names first, and then find some icons. General color is going to be blue and red, like the rest of my army. So that part is sorted out Any ideas for icons though? I know I have the Monty Python theme going, but I'd like my army to be sort of serious as well. I could always go with a simple Chaos star, but I'd like something more elaborate. Hm.... What do you guys think of this sort of idea? A white/ice raven could be pretty cool incorporated into my heraldry. Whatever image I use will probably be surrounded by a Chaos star.

So you want us to basicly draw out and paint a "banner" on something like an index card?

You can make it smaller, I do around that size because it's easier for me to do details. You can also photoshop or MS Paint something from the internet, like I did with my four defiler banners. The raven looks cool, Brian. I think it would work well on your color scheme background

Like I said, they can be taken from the internet for those who aren't as into drawing or designing their own. My defiler banners all came from the same site that has all sorts of fantasy art. I'll try and find it today and post it up on here. Also there are the GW premade banners - I think there's a pack at Hobbytown.

I think the red skull on black backround would look good.

I think either red on black or black on red would look really nice for the stampede, Bob. Cool pic.
