I'm going to try for next Saturday for a few games, since I have plans for tomorrow. I prefer casual games anyway since people don't get as uptight.
So anyone looking for a game of Mk2, save the date.

As an aside, switching games mainly happens when the local gaming environment gets stagnant... 40k was pretty dead for the half a year preceding 6th edition, but the new rules have us all experimenting and seeing how our armies have changed (that "all" is pretty relative too, since I can count on one hand the number of people who are really into 40k at the moment... lots of guys are just busy with real life stuff!).
The WM/H league was awesome, and represented a solid 2 or 3 months where I was gung-ho into my Khador trying to get games in. I still prefer it over 40k on Vassal 100%, and I'm limited to Vassal since I'm away at school. If you guys are unsatisfied with the Warmachine community here (which I can understand), why not make it something better? I know a couple of guys who are disenfranchised with 40k, who have their armies bought or painted (or had their armies gimped by poor codex updates) and are more interested in Warmachine. Another league, a campaign, a ladder, narrative event... Bob's trying to get a tournament off the ground, but it's not his fault if there's no interest. Instead of getting burned by the lack of interest, try to make that interest.
Those Flames guys are the strongest group at the club imo (and I don't even play the game!), because so many of them are dedicated to making it a good gaming environment. They organize their campaigns, their leagues, their tournaments, their narrative events... plenty of them invest in the process, and that is by far the part of the club that has grown the most in the past year. I envy that... 40k is, for most of us, the "standby" game since we know it well and have models. Warhammer Fantasy has pretty much died, and that was the starting game for many of our older players. That sucks. Warmachine is very refreshing for me, and I love the game/system. Hell, I'm hoping for new Hobbit models/rules since the LotR Strategy Battle Game was my first major investment in the hobby, and is still a system I have a blast with.
I guess the long-winded rambling point is that if you don't feel people are playing Warmahordes, there's a reason for that. Don't get grumpy about it, find a way to make the game more popular. I'm a culprit because I have my hand in enough games I can play whatever is "hot" at the moment... if that isn't your thing, MAKE your game hot at the moment. The Flames players have been doing that for over a year! If this tournament doesn't get off the ground, someone should consider taking the initiative and starting another small Warmahordes league. See if you can get some of the Flames guys involved. See if you can get friends or random strangers involved!

5 people...sigh...I don't think so, man. I'll leave the poll up, and wait to schedule something different, but I'm leaning towards like a Historical Battle demo or something.

Sorry guys, 5 does not a tournament make. I'm going to cancel this and we'll try it again soon...maybe we can get some outside world advertisment going and drum up a bigger crowd Instead of this I'll hope to do a Historical game demo using Black Powder rules. More info coming soon!

Well there were a couple of players in particular who were playing WM/H and "switched" back to 40k since the release of 6th occurred over the summer. Of course people can play whatever they want, I just found it hard to find games and I didn't check the forums often. I'm not being judgmental but just explaining why I voted so late and proposing a possible reason why there was such a low interest in having this tournament.
Don't get me wrong! I know that pretty much everyone plays multiple systems (myself included), but over the summer it was tough to find games of warmachine/hordes (and I wasn't the only person who thought so). My decision to go to another club was also due to more events there, my friends going there, etc. but the game situation at the club didn't make the decision any harder.
