Infected? I'm not even sure I want my models near that model...
And great job with those wounds on the zombie!

Oh he's infected alright. I think flu season made its way to the 40k universe...and he clearly didn't have his shot. I don't think weathering powders is cheating....why do all these purists claim that using different methods to accelerate a process to get similar results is cheating? you're using a technique to arrive at a finished look, Whatever methods available are fair game to me.
It's sort of like one of the arguments in the FOW forums about weather or not British Tanks should be allowed to mount .50cal guns. There is a post 5 pages long about people arguing over one picture. I understand a desire for historical accuracy, but lighten up a little folks.
Sorry for the digression. I think the bloody bits look great, but the highlighting seems to get masked by the weathering a alittle bit. But what do I know, this is better then my stuff by a long shot. It's like having Bob Ross Criticize Van Gogh.

Thanks for the replys. I know what your saying, but I say forget the purists!
I did fully intend for the weathering to cover up a lot of the highlighting on the base, feet and boots. I highlight it still because what does show through the powder I wasn't to match the rest of the model. I'm also crazy and paint things even if I know you'll never see it.

Had to change the name of the thread as they are looking rather infected. Just finished the third zombie. Enjoy.

The colors on that guy are really crazy and awesome and I dig it.
I like the weathering powder, but maybe dial it back a little bit? Especially on flamer guy -- to me, it winds up looking like the rusty parts don't belong to the rest of the model, because they look too simple compared to the in depth layering that the rest of the model has. Idk if that makes sense? It's not as bad on my computer as it was on my phone, but I feel like too much rust obscures some of the little details.

I love the rusty sword. And that pollop sticking out of his back is one of the most disgusting things ever. I mean that as a compliment.

It's actually a giant maggot.

Yeah, I really like that maggot you were able to add on that zombie, very disturbing.

Man, you have 3 done already? Only what...47 to go? At this rate, you'll only be a few months...and I'm not being sarcastic, as your estimate was much longer. You're really moving along, and those things are extremely gross!

I'm really loving the look of this army Tim and your sculpting is amazing as usual. Love the maggot on that last one. I can only assume this is Nurgle here. What have you been using as a base for the zombie models - I know I saw some skeleton and zombie parts on Whippyguts (whom I also love - did you sculpt the mask?). Are the legs from IG guys?

These are converted from the dark vengeance cultists. The only thing on Sir Whippy Guts are a Tomb Kings whip arm and a skeleton fist for the other hand, the rest is either the model or sculpted. I did not sculpt the mask, that's just how he is. =D

I love it! Very Dead Alive, especially the last two. Was the big guy from the Dark Vengeance set too?
