While I'm getting more excited with each sneak peak, my wallet isn't... From BoLS:
"Eldar minis are in the Webway, headed to stores worldwide. Here's the latest word on products and prices.
It looks like June will be the month of Eldar and Bikers! Better get your wallets out... We've been all been working our day jobs for the Farseers it turns out. All this stuff hits shelves June 1st.
PRODUCT PRICE (USD) Codex Eldar $49.50 Iyanden Codex Supplement $49.50 Eldar Farseer $20.00 Eldar Wraithknight $115.00 Eldar Wraithguard(5) $50.00 Eldar Hemlock Fighter $65.00 Eldar Dire Avengers(5) $35.00 Eldar Battleforce $115.00 Eldar Jetbike Squad $40.00 Eldar Psychic Powers (Cards) $7.50 Eldar Spiritseer $19.25 Eldar Illic Nightspear $19.25
... take a look at that Wraithknight price, it's overall size, and that fact that it's part of a regular codex. Interesting..."

They are bringing back supplements such as the old 3rd edition catachans mini codex. The eldar supplement is specifically for those eldar players who want to play a specialized craftworld Eldar army. I played 3rd edition and i thought they were awesome. You had variant armies such as orks speedfreaks, ig catachan deathworld armier, Armaggedon steel legion mech lists. This also opens the door for space marine variants beyond the normal codexs, chaos space marines legion specific, IG armies based on variant worlds, etc. Personally i think this may be how they reintroduce black templars since it allows them to use the main codex as a base and just add a supplement for a few extra rules, special characters, and slight variant on organization for a BT list. Its free money for GW who likely doesnt need to create a model wave for each supplement minidex.

It's supposed to be a whole bunch of storyline and fluff regarding just the Iyanden Craftworld, along with pictures of models and such. BUT, it is also going to have supplemental rules. I'm guessing kind of along the lines of the old Craftworld Eldar book that was out for third addition. Probably a way to make a spirit army (almost all wraiths) again. There's talk of them doing one for most, if not all, of the major craftworlds. That would be amazing, especially for a Biel-Tan army. But $50 for a supplemental book is ridiculous, so I'll probably wait for a .pdf.

The price and size of the wraithknight leads me to believe GW has bigger plans for the upcoming armaggedon release. I have a feeling they are going to try make armaggedon 2k+ based games more standard and push the sales of thier larger models such as baneblades and now knights. Honestly its the only way GW can keep making money by reducing point costs of models, creating larger battles, and creating newer models.

I've whined about GW pricing for the past few releases, but that Wraithknight is the coolest freaking thing. Very jealous of Eldar players! Interested in what this bodes for Apocalypse... I had not given much thought to the supplement ($50? Better be the same # of pages and equally good content as the codex!), but curious to see if it changes rules. I could see a Black Templars codex supplement to the SM book in the fall being an elegant way to preserve both sets of rumors.

$50? Better be the same # of pages and equally good content as the codex! I was actually thinking the same otherwise it's a lame excuse to get $50 more from their customers -sight- other than that the rest of the release looks great

Am I the only one that doesn't like the wraithknight? It looks a bit bulky to be eldar'y'. And as far as that price tag goes it is bigger than big tau battlesuit by 2 inches or so as far as i can tell

I'm not a fan of the head, I think that's what makes the body look so bulky. Other than that I like the more solid build look it has. Kind of like the way the old epic knight titans used to look. The wraithguard are a little bulky looking as far as Eldar go too, but it works IMO being that they are constructs.
It's 9" tall, only a few inches shorter than a Revenant Scout Titan. But yes, $115 is still over-priced. But we're talking GW, so I expect nothing less.

Their team of marketing chimps must of seen it being a big seller so tht could explain the price.

Its going to be a big seller, it is so completely a revenant scout titan rip off that every poor eldar player that's always wanted but couldn't afford the $300 forgeworld one will simply see this as the deal of a life time. (Me included)
