Yes, it is time to set a date for this event, and as always we would like very much to get everybody's input, all ideas count and will help to make the event better for everybody. Josh ( anabisxero) is already working on the details for the tournament, for now we're thinking on a small point level (1500) as an intro event for all of us who would like to try the game for first time or return to it. Anyway, help us to decide on the best date for it, please select the three dates that best fit your scheduled and also feel free to add comments below if you have an idea for missions or a cool theme.

I think 1500 points is the perfect point level. I will post what I've been working on you guys can use whatever you want or don't. I got a ton of terrain i want to paint so it may take awhile for me to be ready. I created missions for 4 boards with board specific mission objectives for each side. This allows for 8 players. I can include pictures of the 4 boards but its mostly just grey plastic still.

The Darkness Rises A new age has dawned, as the Imperium's darkest hour closes in; our armies gather to repel the closing dark. Xenos invasions have encroached on Mankind's rightful realm, our archenemies advance ever closer to Terra. New alliances will be forged while old ones are forgotten.
The petty squabbles and divisions that have plagued the Imperium’s armies are no more, being cast aside to face the greater enemies. More than ever before, the Emperors forces are united in a single cause of survival. The most revered chapters of the Astartes are bringing their greatest weapons to bear. The Imperial Guard tithes draw upon worlds to form the greatest array of weapons that the Imperium has ever produced, their discipline is the mortar that holds them together and pushes back the tide. The isolation of the Knight houses is at an end, as they advance forward with the Emperor's armies to crush his foes. The Inquisition are gathering their retinues, calling upon the services of the Officio Assassinorium to hunt the threats in the howling dark. The time has come for the Xenos expansion to end, and the Imperium to advance and take back what was lost.
The alliance Eldar and Tau is no more, their strands of fate no longer linked. Divided they will fall to the might of the Imperium. The dark kin are standing on the precipice of destruction and their only chance of survival rests within the blood of their victims. These threats are not to be underestimated, as they are fighting for their very survival. The Inquisition has sanctioned those that once suffered the alien to live and took up arms with them, no more will the Emperor's finest fight side by side with Xenos.
As the Imperium stands united, the Warp grows ever more volatile, Daemons spilling forth from every gateway. The powers of psykers has grown, unleashing destructive and damning energy to smite their foes, but the instability of the Warp has led many to their self destructive ends, losing their souls to madness. The Grey Knights are called more than ever, to combat these rising tides of daemonic incursions and their followers.
And yet word is coming to all the worlds of the growing threat of the greenskins. New weapons are being forged and warbosses unite in ever larger bands of orks. Calls for aid grow every day as new WAAAGHS! are launched and rumors of more to come. Only time will tell if a united Imperium can hold back the rising tide.
In spite of all this, rumors abound of living steel soldiers rising from the ground and cults of the great devourer consuming entire sectors leaving nothing in their wakes. Two unstoppable forces whose paths run straight through the heart of Terra toward the altar of the god-emperor.
The Imperium is facing its darkest time and its armies must fight like never before. Its greatest war machines are called to action in ever more desperate battles. The age of battle marches ever onward and the Emperor's armies are tested, damnation and darkness waits should they be found wanting.

Location History Planet-Cerberus; Promethium mining colony Prone to severe earthquakes, violent underground gas explosions, massive volcanic activity, severe smog & dust storms; the planet Cerberus is enveloped under complete tectonic instability. A sudden and unexpected evacuation of Cerberus was called many centuries ago which left behind a large amount of promethium reserves & many abandoned plasteel refineries and settlements. Its remote location close to warp paths & unique situation left Cerberus highly coveted for looting and thus it quickly became a base for many xenos raiding parties and home to several ork big meks.
Locations of interest: Table 1:Bartertown Badlands blackmarket colony run by “Masta Blasta”; Masta is a highly resourceful gretchin who ride upon the shoulders of Blasta a mentally unstable Ork weird boy. Together they run Bartertown the largest trade settlement on Cerberus. “Masta Blasta" has strict rules that have kept Bartertown a relatively profitable trading post. This open relationship means outlaws, alien races, and rogue traders are able to freely trade in the black market.
Mission: “Thunderhawk Down” Find and rescue Malleus Inquisitor Diego de Castillo and his retinue; who suddenly crashed on route to their target location. Objectives: Primary (Custom): 3x survivors if any survivors of the crash survive by end of game imperial player receives 3 points, If all survivors are killed xenos receives 3 victory points, any army with a unit within 2in of the crashed lander at the end of game can control or contest the objective for 3 victory points. Survivors can only move d6 a turn due to injuries. (Space marine rules) Secondary: objective cards for each side x 3, 2pts each Tertiary: first blood, slay warlord, line breaker, 1 pt each Deployment: Vanguard
Table 2: Hade’s Gate Abandoned Imperial strongpoint and research facility. Information Sealed by Order of the Inquisition.
Mission: “All Your Bases Belong To Us!” Secure and disrupt the research facility of the Dark Mechanium Cult; “The Time Lords” Objectives: Primary (Purge the Alien): 1 pt per unit, (9 max) Secondary: objective cards for each side x 3, 2pts each Tertiary: first blood, slay warlord, line breaker, 1 pt each Deployment: Hammer and Anvil
Table 3: Hellam Township on the outskirts of Hade’s gate once was the largest Imperial settlement on Cerberus; now in ruins & overrun by mercenaries & xenos raiding parties.
Mission: “Spy vs Spy” Locate and capture the Relic near the ventilation entrance to Hade’s Gate. Objectives: Primary (Relic): 5 pts +1pt a turn, (9 max) [Relic appears turn 2] Secondary- objective cards for each side x 3, 2pts each Tertiary- first blood, slay warlord, line breaker, 1 pt each Deployment- Dawn of War
Table 4: Mount Hekla Located on the largest moon of Cerberus, the ice world Acheron, is the home of a neglected Imperial planetary outpost on Mount Hekla. Home of the Aquila Strongpoint named “Crater of Fire”.
Mission: “Exterminatus” Secure and control the Aquila Strongpoint: “Crater of Fire”. Objectives: Primary (Crusade): 3 objectives, control or contest =1 pt each turn, (9 max) Secondary- objective cards x 4, 2pts each Tertiary- first blood, slay warlord, line breaker, 1 pt each Deployment- Vanguard

Mission Narative Debriefs Bartertown(Imperial)- You initially were told this was a rescue operation. However once you landed you came under fire from xenos forces that were heavily fortified. Xenos Inquisitor Diego de Castillo was already dead with only three survivors from his retinue. This was never a rescue operation; your men were sacrificed so that Inquisitor Diego de Castillo’s imperial records were either retrieved or destroyed. Furthermore you were sent on a “suicide mission” to destroy the air defense batteries.
Bartertown(xenos)- Your forces suffered heavy losses however the looting on this battlefield just made you an extremely wealthy man and your army is that much stronger. On a planet like Cerberus there is no shortage of black markets willing to buy/trade for a warp core or force field generator or some chaos sorcerer who needs a few imperial bodies to experiment on.
Hade’s Gate(Imperial)- You may not have taken over the underground base beneath Hade’s Gate but the imperium never wanted you too. They knew you were hopelessly outnumbered. The communication you sent out wasn’t for reinforcements to arrive as you expected. Instead as your men sacrificed themselves to hold onto a landing pad awaiting reinforcements that never came; an imperial agent was stealing an artifact from within the base. You and your men were just a distraction so the agent could escape once he stole the artifact.
Hade’s Gate(xenos)- The battle for Hade’s Gate has disrupted your research into the Necron Artifact the “Chrono Trigger”, but your forces have successfully kept the gate sealed and imperial forces at bay. Now you can resume your research and continue feeding the souls of the lost to your demon engines.
Hellam(Imperial)- You were sent to clear out hostile xenos forces around the ventilation entrance to Hade’s Gate, so that an Agent of the imperium could exit and deliver an artifact to you. Apparently the Callidus assassin who retrieved the artifact has turned traitor to the imperium and has run off with the real artifact and left you and xenos forces fighting over a forgery. However the imperium knew about this betrayal beforehand and had sent a Vindicare assassin to retrieve the artifact. Your superiors however did not feel you had a need to know those details.
Hellam(Xenos)- You were hired by chaos agents to retrieve an artifact that would appear near the ventilation entrance to Hade’s Gate and were told to kill whomever was stealing it. However it appears the artifact you were fighting over was a forgery and the Callidus assassin who initially stole the artifact disappeared and the real artifact is nowhere to be found.
Mount Hekla(Imperial)- Exterminatus has been ordered on Cerberus. Once the Aquila Strongpoint is operational 6 Vortex Missiles silos located on the moon of Acheron will fire into key locations on Cerberus setting off a chain reaction of earthquakes, volcanoes and promethium explosions that will push the planet into an uninhabitable wasteland.
Mount Hekla(Xenos)- Once the Aquila Strongpoint is operational the imperium was going to send 6 Vortex Missiles located on the Moon of Acheron into Cerberus. Instead you have other plans for those 6 now missing vortex missiles.

Thanks a lot for the input Sam, we'll certainly take it in consideration.
It looks like the first weekend of 2015 is getting the most votes, the poll we’ll stay open for a little bit longer, but please vote for your favorite dates at your earlier convenience

Your idea would work much better for a campaign rather than a friendly tournament, though it is nicely written and very detailed

Your idea would work much better for a campaign rather than a friendly tournament, though it is nicely written and very detailed The terrain I am making for it should be fairly thematic as well. A realm of battle board w the crashed thunderhawk and crashed Aquila surrounded by badland rocks and an ork fort in the corner. A heavily fortified imperial base and mining colony. A city fight board with a small hedge park. All three of those are made but need painting. The ice board mountain base I need to make the actual board out of foam board but I have all the gw plastic bases parts made. I have to learn to paint big projects like this quickly I get caught up In Painting detail to much. I need to just paint each board in three colors quickly just to get it made and we can use it and I can go back and detail at my leisure.

If a formal tournament is in the works, I volunteer as tribute. I am willing to do match ups, calculate victory points handle table assignments and collect registration and lists. I won't be playing but I'm happy to help out. Tim did an excellent job last tourney and the dice sales were through the roof as a result but I'd rather see people like Tim play and gawk at the armies tham try to throw together a list of scrubs amd watch as brian or Tims army eats my soul for genetic material. I would rather watch some one else's army get eaten by Brian or Tims..... I will work with rod and some more knowledgable folks to get myself prepared and try to do an overview of the rules in preparation. Looking forward to this in January

Well, it looks like we have a date for our tournament and really I can't think of a better way to start the year than with wargaming and friends
We have the basics for the points and army composition rules and just need to "iron" some details with Josh and now Tom (thanks both) so they can take over the organization.
Keep tune for more!

Been rather absent on the forums and in the club, sorry bout that. Having a kid really does eat up a lot of time. Soon enough he'll be gaming.
That said I should be able to make it down to play in this little event. Should you need any help with things let me know.
Also, as much as I love brining all the toys, 1500 points is my new favorite points limit.
