Hey guys! I am so thrilled that there's a handful of people who are having a blooming interest in 40k, and in my other thread, there's been talk about a campaign or something. Love the idea, and I hope more people join in!

That's cool, I think after this weekend I'll be around more to play, I can probably do intro games for people who haven't played in a while. If we did a campaign, it would be more to get people back into 40k and not so competative.

How many points do you want to start with?

I think we would play with around 1000 because that will make for a small game that people can learn with. At the end we might playing 1500 or 2000 points to "test" how people will do in real games. The average game is somewhere around 1500 so that would be the prime number to play at the end, but for now 1000 or even 500 to get the game down and/or get games in quick to fill a story!

Sounds good, I'm usually doing 2k games down at battle grounds so this will be a hood change of pace.

I have started on the actual campaign. The main story of that there are different worlds in the desva'le system. There are multiple worlds that you try to take control of and each world you conquer are points that as to your score at the end. Missions are random from the book, and the points you get from the missions (points for objectives, slay the warlord, first blood and say forth) three worlds are on the map, so each player starts with a foothold on a planet except for my nids who are just gonna eat everything there can.

just trowing my two cents here, I remember that long ago we did a similar campaign and we added some mission from the Planet Strike book, not really sure if they're compatible with the new rules, but thought I should mention it, I think I have the book in case you want to check it out

It's more of just a modification than an actual expansion.

If anyone wants to start this campaign gw is having a phenominal deal on starter collections. $80 for a complete starter army that comes with a playable formation rules. Army collections like ad mech are great deals that are 45% off the retail price and if you order from an online retailer like frontline gaming you can get it for 25% off that price.
Unrelated to the formaion bundle but in case you want to expand beyond that one formation. Black library also has Digital book collections where you can get multiple army books like ad mech, skitari and knights and the war convection for like nearly 50% off like $62.
