So Kevin and I had some time to think this over, and I think we've made a fun, simple scenario that will be intense, and fast. I also have the bridge! which is an awesome little piece of construction I picked up at a yard sale. We'll be playing this Sunday the 18th at the Store. We will get there for setup at 11am and hopefully will be rolling dice by 11:30.
There will be 8 total companies at 1500 pts each.
The Allies:
British Airborne - will deploy all their troops near the bridge in their deployment area
British XXX Corps - will hold half their platoons off the table in reserve, reserve platoons will come on from any of the roads entering the table on their side of the board
American Airborne - will hold half their platoons off the table in reserve, reserve platoons will come on from any of the roads entering the table on their side of the board
The Germans
SS Blocking Force? (up to Kevin, pick a historically appropriate force and plug it on in.) - will deploy all their troops near the bridge in their deployment area
German Lists Attacking - will hold half their platoons off the table in reserve, reserve platoons will come on from any of the roads entering the table on their side of the board
Rules:
1. The German players have the first turn
2. The Game ends when one of the Attacking Companies controls the bridge.
3. The Defending companies CANNOT take the objective to win the game. (British Airborne or SS Blocking Force)
4. any airpower taken follows the total war rules
5. No Company Morale tests will be taken, all companies fight to the death.
