Okay, this is the 1500 pt chaos army I'm going to try to bring to play Evan on Monday. I would just need to get Furghus and the warhounds done over the weekend. I'm almost done with Furghus himself, and am almost done building his chariot - after that, it's just a matter of doing the painting
Oozedrool's Wretched Regiment[/u]
290 - Oozedrool the Vile Sorcerer on chariot, level 2 caster, Mark of Nurgle, Power Familiar, Dispel Scroll
290 - Furghus the Debauched Exalted hero battlestandard bearer, mounted in chariot, Mark of Slaanesh, Whip of Subversion, Blasphemous Amulet
220 - 10 Chaos Warriors Mark of Nurgle, Shields, Standard, Champion, & Musician
200 - 10 Chaos Warriors Halberds, Shields, Standard, Champion, & Musician
30 - 5 Chaos Warhounds
120 - Chaos Chariot
225 - Giant ("Barney")

Hm, interesting. I'm curious to see how this works on the field, the Chariots look pretty strong especially with all your heros. I'll have to see if investing in one or two is worth it. Also wanna see you Giant model, I may break down and get my own soon too because they're so cool.

My giant that I use with my WoC is actually an old McFarlane figure. Back in the mid to late 90s he did little playsets/dioramas of classic horror scenes. This figure was from the Hunchback of Notre Dame set. He's perfect scale and looks totally chaos. I think I glued and puttied the joints and then just did a few washes and highlights. He was able to hold the bell rope in one hand, so I posed him grabbing a zombie by the leg. I have the plastic Warhammer giant as my beasts of chaos giant and another as my zombie (DoW) giant for Vampire Counts

The warhammer giant kit is a great kit for anyone who plays fantasy and can use a giant because it comes with so many cool bits that are great for converting models, decorating bases, and making scenery with

You'll do fine, Evan...bait & flee, don't let him combo-charge with the US5 character-ridden chariots, run away and charge them in the flank.
It just dawned on me that the WoC giant is more expensive than everyone elses...they made it ItP (which it already was, effectively) and made you pay 20 more points for it?! That stinks!

I think toughness 5. The chaos giant may get some kind of armor save, but I can't remember now. Maybe that's just the one in the BoC book.

Oh, there is an eratta to this list: Furghus the Debauched is now riding in the "Medieval Rock of Love Bus". Mrs. Carnivean just coined the name this morning and I love it, so I'm going with it. I was showing her the progress I was making with my BSB chariot, which is slaanesh, so has lots of draping standards and chains and the two scantily clad slave girls from one of the dark eldar kits, and she said "that looks like the medieval Rock of Love bus." Then I showed her the model of Furghus himself - which I was painting on a normal small base so I could paint him easier - and she said "You're a pervert" "But honey, Slaanesh has kind of this Hellraiser thing going -" "You're a pervert." Ah, she married a gamer - she knew what she was getting into ;D Oh, and I may swap out the 5 man hound unit for like a banner on the nurgle troops if I can't get them finished in time. We will see.

So the list I used was a little different from this one because when I went into excel to make the list I realized I shorted myself 150 points (after removing the unpainted hounds) and so added two models and a magic standard to each warrior unit and two more marks.

I think our game would have been a draw it that stupid spell didn't go off.

Yeah, I think so. Your bsb would have been taken out from the bsb's chariot charging him, but your sorcerer and a couple more of your units probably would have either survived or I would have only gotten half points for them. There's a good chance I would have gotten the second wound on your sorcerer by getting the buboes spell off again, but that wouldn't have been a sure thing.

The interesting thing about the chaos book that just occured to me was how great those banners are for the points cost. 20 point Slaanesh banner - if you roll ANY ones or ANY doubles in the break test it counts as insane courage. 25 pt Nurgle banner - at the start of your magic phase any non-nurgle enemy in base to base contact with the bearer (usually two or three) makes a toughness save or loses a wound with no armor saves. I don't think any of the other books that I can think of have banners that useful for that cheap. I guess it's to make up for the fact that the warrior units are so expensive.

I don't really like either of those banners.
The first one is planning on losing: I'd rather pay 25pts for Warbanner that helps me win instead of something to help me when I lose.
The Nurgle one is ok, but doesn't thrill me. 25 pts for 1-2 wounds when you're in contact...blah. With my luck I'd end up in a traffic jam with my own non-nurgle troops and kill my own guys!
I like the Stubbon/Terror banner, myself...though it's far from cheap!

Ironically the war banner is the example I had in my mind of the one I[/b] would never use for 25 points. Guess it goes to show that you're an eternal optimist and I'm an eternal pessimist ;D I would never put that Slaanesh banner on a unit of knights, as I would indeed be thinking of winning the combat with them rather than spend points for an item for in case they lose - I think I would still rather have something that would help them cause wounds like the banner of the barrows or the one that gives hatred, but in the case of putting it in a warrior unit like I had on Monday, I still think it's a great deal because it helps them to be able to take a charge from something fairly nasty (which there is a good chance they may have to) and still hold. In that game they were charged by Evan's BSB and a big unit of Str 5 swordmasters and lost combat by like 5 or six after all the ranks and banners on the other side. I remembered rolling a 1 on one die, and had I not completely forgotten about the banner that they had until turn 5, they would have stayed and I would have been able to flank charge his BSB with my BSB chariot. As it was, it did provide an amusing moment when they rolled snake eyes for their flee distance, prompting me to say Ha! There's your insane courage! You thought about it and decided to stop running and turn back around but it was too late! You've gotta love moments like those. Totally Ordo
