The Guns at Gettysburg system seems to make sense to me, I liked it a lot and I think Bob did as well. It's got both historical scenarios and a points system in case people want to come up with their own force. It's also expansive as there are several scenario book expansions out for it. It also has options for huge (Corps) sized battles as well. I personally liked that there seemed to be a lot of tactical options without being overly bogged down in rules.
I have only really briefly perused the RF&F rules, but from what I could tell the points system isn't there, like Black Powder it's more scenario based than what we're used to from Warhammer and Flames.
I'd personally be alright with starting with the GAG rules for now, but am open to other rule systems as well, what does everyone else think?

I feel the same, Ben. I'm an American, I demand immediate gratification...so I'll play with these rules until we find something we like more. Here's a blogpost with pics of the AB stuff from Eureka (note that this stuff is about 20 cents more per fig than some of the other options...I'm anxious to see how the cheaper stuff compares!) bloodskullsfire.blogspot.com/2012/03/15mm-historical-gaming-jumping-in-with.html

The wife says I have a box from War Web (Grandiosity) waiting for me at home...that should be the two Georgia Brigades!
Ben, any update on your stuff?

Still nothing, warweb finally charged my credit card for my order on Monday, so I'm hoping that's when it shipped. If that's the case (I hope), I should have it tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

I was wrong, this was the Command Decision WW2 stuff I ordered early Feb that I'd forgotten about. Nice kit, 3 Pumas for $15, and a big bag of Panzerschreck guys!
But, no ACW yet

I finally got around to making my order on WarWeb. I mostly went with Battle Honors.
For the Union, I went with 2 bags on infantry, a separate pack of Pennsylvania Buckails (cos I love the name!) cavalry with carbines, artillery and some generals.
For the Confederates I got 2 bags of infantry, some skirmishers, cavalry with shotguns (ka-chow!) artillery and some generals.
I also picked up some paints and some buildings, but I'm not sure about bases. Aren't the 25mm squares a little on the small side? What about 30x40mm?

Actually basing-wise 25mm for 2 bases is on the big side. Check the BP rules if you have them, see what it suggests at 15mm. GaG and RFF seem to both go with 8-12mm per figure, in 2 ranks, 2 or 3 wide (or 4 for big regiments). I'm afraid they'll always be a bit cramped, shoulder-to-shoulder and all

Hey Ben, did your stuff arrive from WarWeb yet? No sign of my order even being looked at - thinking I should give them a call? The war effort in CT needs reinforcements!

Hey Shane. Still haven't received anything. My warweb order was placed on Mar 8th, and my historical miniatures order was placed on March 6th.

I called WarWeb - they seemed nice enough. Apparently my JR Minis buildings have to be cast to order, so once they arrive they'll send everything. Should be about a week, I was told, but we'll see!

So...after almost exactly 30 days, my warweb order arrived today. The Battle Honors minis look really good, not much flash. I will send out a few pics once I get a little time to take a batter look at them.
Still no word or sign of the minis from historical miniatures. I've emailed them with no response.

Back from Korea. Didn't get as much painting done as I'd hoped. Only managed to do 3 guns and their crew, and start on two Officers. Boo for no energy to paint

Glad you're back, Bob! My stuff came, but I'm now on visiting family for the week inKC and then have to fly out to Cali for work the following week. I'm ready to kick production into high gear as soon as I get back!
