Well I started putting some of the red coats together. This is not easy. There are so many parts and combinations. My muskets are pointing too high but I can't get the free arm to look right on the shoulder unless I do it this way.

They're looking great, Randy! You're right, they're not easy to put together - I'm actually surprised how complicated they are compared to the 3-piece Warlord Napoleonic minis.
Interesting you're having a problem getting the "A" arms to not sit lower - mine seem to naturally sit a little too high as well, although I was able to push them down where I think they look ok.
I'm on my third unit, it's certainly becoming easier. I'm sure the first unit I built is technically wrong in some way! I'm gonna make the last unit Grenadiers!

How about some pictures Shane? I was able to get the next one lower. I'm starting to get the hang of these guys. I also got the drummer and a standard bearer in the line up. I can't wait to start painting.

I'll post my 2 units so far, I'm going to get another Unit of Colonial Militia done by Friday. It does get easier. I haven't had the same issue with guys aiming too high. But I'm less picky about the lines and some weird shapes than I think you guys are. Both of you are much more accomplished painters I'll give the 28mm my best shot, and follow some tutorials once they are primed, but with the layering and such that I want to do, It'll take time. I'm aiming to get a full unit done by the end of winter break. pics to follow this evening of the horde so far

Behold, one Militia Unit and one Unit of Colonial Infantry. I forget where the flags are from, and I've had trouble figuring it out. But I plan on buying more flags...because they are awesome. Litko bases are ordered as well, so I'll be using those soon.

They are looking good Tom, I can't wait to route them And don't sell yourself short as a modeler/painter you are really good. Hey Wes, I didn't know you were getting involved too. The 2nd CT look great. Love the flag. I almost have my first unit put together. I'll definitely have the first unit done and painting commenced this weekend.

*Baddum Ching!* Tip your waitress and try the veal!
Yeah, I have the Continental starter army for a winter project. Also picked up the BP book. Looking forward to some gentlemanly warfare!

Hey Tom, do you have any idea what figure L is supposed to make on the Continental command frame? There's no description on the pamphlet, and best I can tell it just makes an awkwardly running guy.

West troops are are at Valley Forge get it frozen ha. Terrible. Terrible George. Hey Wes, What engagements were the 2nd CT in? I'll make some of my guys from other units that fought with them. I'm trying to figure out which flags to order based on Historical Campaigns or Battles. When we play I'll run them as whatever, but in painting them, I wanted to see if I could be accurate as to Uniforms and flags for a unit of my choice.

I think you can make him a skirmisher, or a leader fig with a sword or instrument. I'm still figuring it out, I haven't busted into the command sprue just yet. Only the Regular infantry dudes

They were at Germantown and Monmouth, alongside several other CT regiments, but they're not listed in the Rebellion book order of battles. Under MacDougall and then Huntington according to Wikipedia. The problem I'm finding is that the Continental army was re-formed like three times, so it's hard to keep track.
I'm planning on making several of the other CT regiments, especially the 7th CT, as they were formed in New Milford.
If you want to keep unit consistency between our armies, it looks like they stay solidly under Nathaniel Greene's overall command.
