I just had an idea and couldn't wait until I get back home,
I was thinking that it could be fun to instead of having a big battle like we do, maybe for this event we all can bring as many small list as we want, to test the new different rules, in that way we all can have multiple mini games through out the day and have a better feeling of the new rules

Rod, that's what I was thinking too. Maybe a list primarily tank based and a list that is primarily infantry based.

Do we want to stick with Mid War? since that's what they will have the new pts listed for? And we can do like a 30 or 50 pt list? Or if we wanted to try out the LW conversions, we could do 500pt infantry or tank aces style stuff

Having read through V4, I can say it is vey much Team Yankee, but with gun teams. The Mid-War rulebook and the Early/Late War rulebooks are nearly identical, with the differences being centered around the fact that Mid-War will have cards with specific ratings by unit, and the Early/Late War book generalizes and gives blanket ratings because they haven't redone everything yet.
Big changes that I like come in the US tank destroyer rules, where they have stated the security section counts as its own unit separate of the tank destroyer unit itself, and the tank destroyers essentially have stormtrooper. Unarmoured recce vehicles now only have a 4+ save, as do gun teams. The bigger the gun team, the higher the cross value and lower the movement. Scoring has been changed to a 9-point system, where the winner gets 8 for losing 0-1 units, and it slides down from there. The most important change I've seen, is that reserves are done in a more fair way. You now can have up to 60% of your POINTS on the table, with the rest in reserve, rather than up to 50% of your platoons. This is big, as I will admit many of my lists were built around abusing the point costs of platoons, where I would have reserves, but still have 80-90% of the total value of my army on the table. Additionally, the missions are nearly identical to those in Team Yankee and the expanded missions for it.
Sadly, the formations are not in the Mid-War book. The Early/Late War book does explain how to use the old lists with the formation approach, allowing you to bring multiple lists from the same source, including allies. The thing to keep in mind is that the formations include only the combat and weapons choices from each list. Then you pick one list to bring the support from.
I'll keep reading and updating everyone as I go. If you have any questions, post and I'll get you the answers.

I thought the Gun teams all saved on a 3+ now? or is that 4+ an addition for the LW/EW conversion? Did you find a full copy of the Rules to read through? or are you going by the WWPD podcast stuff?

I have the actual rulebooks.
Light and medium guns have a 3+ save and heavy and immobile guns have a 4+ in the EW/LW conversion.

Are assaults still handled such that only one unit can assault at a time?

One unit at a time. Sorry.
