I think now I've gotten votes from everyone but the Westchester crowd (Dante, Chris & Nick - at least I think Nick is from out that way) and it's looking like Saturday the 13th of June unless those guys have a conflict or a serious preference for another date. If we do the campaign opening session on the 13th, that means I would probably run the big Shellendrak game on Saturday, May 30th, which was the second most popular date and I believe falls in between the two weekends Bri said he had conflicts for, and then the pre-Shellendrak Shadygrove skirmish game could be played at any point before May 30th, since it's a smaller game that can be done on any of the Hobbytown nights. Keep posting any conflicts/preferences/armies to this thread and I'll keep working on all the campaign stuff on my end. I think this is shaping up to be a really cool thing.

I'm in with my Bretonnians, I have also voted for June 13th and I would like to suggest Bennet's Memorial park in Bethel. 150 bucks will get us the whole "kiosk" with enough picnic tables. We would be outdoors and we could have a coockout on the side!

Bennet Park is really nice... I can't even count the number of family parties i've been to there over the years. It is nice and private, though we might want to bring some of our own tables as picnic tables arent the best for miniatures (just trust me on this lol).

They also stock trout there, and nearby meckauer park has fun bass and sunfish.

I agree. Picnic tables are not the best. Keep in mind Rod and I keep enough boards to abilitate 6 talbes (4x6). this might work!

I think that's decided then. I had been saying on another thread that we should have some kind of a club picnic anyway. Bennet's park sounds like a nice place to do it from what you guys described

Ok. Bennet's it is then. Now... Bethel residents (Dr C or Bob) would need to contact Park and Rec to make the reservations, then we would all chip in for the $, right?

GretchinMike had asked this on one of the other threads and I'm responding on this one since this seems to be the current thread for general campaign discussion. Now if I got an army now could I play summer? Or am I too late Right now it's getting pretty tight - I think I have 14 players right now and while I think I can squeeze 15 starting positions onto the campaign map - it's already 50 territories larger than the Border Princes one that came with the General's Compendium - 14 or 15 is going to definitely be the limit. All that being said, I hate to turn people away, especially a regular gaming night attendee, so here's what I decided on. Since I don't want anyone trying to drop $200+ on an army all at once and then get it assembled and painted in four or five weeks, and since I've only got one extra spot at the most if everyone who already expressed interest ends up playing, I'm going to add one army to the mix, which will be the 'newbie' army, to be used by those who think they may be interested in getting into Warhammer Fantasy, and who would like to participate in the campaign stuff. This army is going to be Wood Elves, and I have an all plastic pre-painted wood elf army that I use whenever I'm showing someone (like Mrs. Carnivean) how to play. (Needless to say, Mrs. Carnivean isn't going to be a regular Warhammer player anytime soon, though she did whup my skaven pretty good ) This Wood Elf army will be a team army, with Gretchenmike as the captain, and first member since he asked first. If HiveMind or Colt or Corey or anyone else in the club want to play as well, they'll be added in, up to a maximum of four, I would say. Playing in the campaign as part of 'Team Wood Elf' will allow members players to participate in all of the Campaign skirmish games and events (like Shellendrak) and they will be able to take turns using the army in battles, while they can make campaign map decisions as a team, with team captain (Gretchinmike) having the final say. Possibly once the Wood Elves are able to have multiple banners, each team member could perhaps be given their own banner to make decisions with. I'll bring the wood elf army to all of the Ordo gatherings, and that way if at anytime someone from Team Wood Elf is unable to make a scheduled battle, someone else in the club can fill in. This way, people interested in playing Warhammer Fantasy will get to see a lot of all the different armies and can decide which one they would like to collect, rather than rushing it in a few weeks. Between the pyramid and the tournaments we usually do in the wintertime, there will still be a lot of stuff to use a fantasy army for once you get it together. So endeth Dr. Carnivean's latest Wall of Text Wait, no, not quite.. There. NOW it's finished ;D

Here's a list of the people and armies that we have so far.
Dr. Carnivean - Army of Lord Horrificus (Warriors of Chaos) Bob - Knornecows (Beasts of Chaos) Brian - Warriors of Chaos ERIC - LIZARDMEN Evan - High Elves Rod - Orcs and Goblins G - Brettonians ABob - Tomb Kings Dante - Ogre Kingdoms Arlin - Empire Chris - Vampire Counts James - Dwarves Nick - Dark Elves Rob (my nephew) - Vampire Counts Team Wood Elf - Wood Elves
Ok, most of these fifteen have confirmed their participation on this thread already. Chris, Nick, Arlin, James, and my nephew Rob I'm pretty sure on but haven't spoken to or seen on the boards recently. I will try to get a confirmation on them in the next week.

LOL Well I'd thought you'd take the hint that we didn't want you and your smelly, scale shedding lizards in the game. Seriously, sorry about the omission. I counted and thought I got to 15 but I guess nowadays I need Bob's math skills just to do a simple head count. I went back and fixed it, as you can see.

O jeeze, excluding Skaven(which is one of the coolest armies ever, wouldn't mind getting into them myself, actually next army im trying) I think we have every Warhammer army, and two WOC and VC armies, the two armies i fight the most thank god. =D I think ill wage unceasing war against the Dwarves. Couple reasons there...
1. Dwarf Blood is like 2 parts water, 1 part booze=Drunken Ogres FTW. 2. Fo' Sh*ts and Giggles. Most importantly 3. Its Goin' to be Fun on a Bun!
