Hey all,
back again with another cryxian list with my boy goreshade, only in his prime version for once!
So i played around with his tier list and i love it, super interesting and quite against the current meta's
goreshade the jerk -6
Stalker +4 Stalker +4 Stalker +4 Stalker +0
Bane Thrall Units (5 grunts and 1 leader) +5 Bane Thrall Units (5 grunts and 1 leader) +5
Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters Unit (5 grunts and 1 leader) +7
Pistol Wraith +3 Pistol Wraith +3
Bane Lord Tartarsauce +4
Boom shacka lacka! So this list is super super assassination themed list and its super fun in theory....not sure how practical it is but it sounds fun =) I got cylena and her people and 12(18) bane thralls.
they just hold the line or feat assassin.
Nextly is the huge amount of assassins that are in this list. 4 stalkers is already nice potential to kill (or die) and the 2 pistol wraiths are none too shabby either.
The fact that i have no heavy jacks makes me a little afraid but i have 18 weapon masters and BLT so i might be ok =) Can't wait to try this list out, nearly have all the models for it.
Ideas? Help? Vassal? Electric Boogahloo?
thanks! dante

My main problem with pGoreshade's tier list is I feel like you really lose out on his spells, especially at such a low point level. Without any kind of focus help from something like a Warwitch Siren, you have a lot of jacks to run off of his limited focus. I say limited because he's on of our few casters who doesn't get the Cull Soul ability.
If you cast Shadowmancer the only model who benefits from its full effect is Goreshade and the Deathwalker as the Stalkers already have stealth. Not that giving them Dark Shroud is anything to dismiss, but since it's not an upkeep spell you lose a lot of focus giving ability when you plan to cast it. Mage Blight is great but at a whopping 5 focus and not even an upkeep it's our most expensive spell, and with a focus stingy warcaster to boot.
The other problem I have at such a low point level with his tier is that there is no one for him to hide behind. He can't really take too much of a beating and, at the same time, can't really dish out too much of one either. Once you hit a 50 pt game you can at least drop a crabjack in there (I'd go Desecrator to help with focus management), but without one you really have to be careful of any kind of range attack unless you cast Shadowmancer.
Now, that being said, Bane Thralls mixed with Nyss Hunters is just a nasty combination that is hard to go wrong with, and everything in your army except your caster and solos starts 6" further upfield. Your weaponmasters will hopefully be on top of the enemy in no time. Use Tartarus's curse right and you should have no problem picking apart most infantry, just be sure to keep him safe. Without that bonus from him MAT 6 will have a hard time against a lot of high DEF infantry.
It looks to me like you're only at 33 pts with this list. We don't have any 2pt incorporeal solos, but you can add 2 Machine Wraiths if you want to stay at tier 4. That gives 4 models that your opponent has to divert either spells or magic weapons into otherwise get harassed and, in the case of the machine wraiths, spend time and focus into staying in control of their own jacks.
Another option, which will take you down to tier 3, would be to drop one stalker (two really since you lose the free one) and one pistol wraith, then add in the Desecrator. It gives you both troop and heavy killing ability. Shadowmancer, as I mentioned, will get a little more mileage out of him (and make him effectively POW 19 in melee!). Also, as long as you keep him within 3" of your banes he gets a free focus so you really don't even have to worry about spending much, if any, on him. But, you're losing 3 models to get one and I don't know if that's worth it to you.

oh god, I hate stalkers... and bane thralls... and machine wratiths if you get them... damn I hate cryx. Do the list with those, make it a pain in the ass for anyone fielding to many jacks, to many infantry, or even just an even list. Just make sure that no one fields a lot of good things with thresher, since that will destroy this list.

Really thats only at 33 points? Hmm.
Well yeah i was thinking about bringing it down to tier three. Ill make a little cost v benefit chart.
Cost: 2 stalkers, pistol wraith. Assassination potential, harassment potential, solo defense. Benefit: Desecrator, Center piece, durability, a heavy jack, protection. \
This is something to mull over. Tier wise i only lose the one jack from tier 4 to 3, but i kinda like having the 4 stalkers all with advanced deploy. Goreshade's stealth spell doesnt make too much sense with his tier because there is already so much stealth, and i understand spreading 7 focus to 4 jacks can be thin but with all thier special rules i believe it to be worth it. His 5 focus spell is pretty situational and really goreshade is just feat delivery system. With a non tier list he is a great support caster, but the assassination tier list is just too much fun not to play i think. Would love a vassal game some time.

so i finally gotta game in with this list against chris' (shaso_snapple) evlad khador army. I came out with a solid win and i love how this list preforms. Its so fast i couldnt believe it. With deploying all my banes with advanced move and all the stalkers with advanced deploy i raced across the table and right away started dividing up his forces.
Goreshade's feat was also an awesome thing. Its potential for assassination or just destroying anything is just crazy, especially when combo'd with BLT. The stalkers also preformed great. I did manage to get one into combat with vlad and it did about 16 boxes of damage on a fully power fielded vlad. But what i think the best part of them was that they are so scary because of how fast they can get behind my opponents lines that they pay for themselves by just having so much of my opponents force divided to deal with them.
LAstly cylena is just great, and she adds eve more weapon master fun to the list, and some ranged that cryx just doesn't have. My favorite thing was the combined range attack that i just ended up abusing to no end hahaha.
Awesome game, thanks chris!
Vassal games are always welcomed =)

I for one LOVE Gorshade. He's a pretty nifty caster and his tier is a lot of fun. I cant say I'm a fan of stalkers though. They die real quick. But you do need them for the tier.

need three of them haha. And stalkers are awesome in my book, with pathfinder, extended focus range and stealth they should only be in the fights you want them to be in
