Thanks Arlin. Yes, I know I need to do some videos. Might try some tomorrow.
Will you be around tomorrow Brian or are you still schooling?

Hobby update. The conversion project is nearly complete. A couple last bits to go and the army will be ready for priming and painting. Here is one if the biker champs with fist. Of course there are plenty guts and sores. Also reading the fluff of the bikes gave me a few ideas. The idea of the bikers becoming one with their steeds (they call the bike steeds in the fluff, I was onto something before I even read it!). Moar bass strings to the rescue. Conments and criticism welcome (and encouraged!)

I think it's really awesome how you were able to make each model unique in its own way, nice job with that! The models are really turning out quite nasty, perfect for a Nurgle army.
How much is left to convert?

How much is left to convert? Thanks for the reply. All that's left really is clean up, mold lines, small gaps, drilling out gun barrels, that crap.

Oh no problem.
And how long is that supposed to take before you get to begin painting?

nice touch with the bass strings!
And just realized that you do the cleaning boring stuff after the model is all put together, seems like an idea that I'm going to try; that will probably reduce the cleaning to only the parts that are exposed and save some time

This is the first project I've done that on. It's been super nice. First of all looking at a fresh clipped price you don't always know what will be seen so you may end cleaning parts that don't matter. Second I knew I was doing some heavy conversion so I wasn't sure what is be clipping off and covering with greenstuff. Third you can build so much faster, really keeps hobby motivation up. The downside, much like painting fully assembled some lines will be harder to get to and clean. I did clean a few bits during assembly that would be obviously difficult to get to. So far though it has saved a ton of time. I cleaned 40 zombies in like 30 minutes, including the resin base edges. Win!

I LOVE working with base string. It gives just the right look for various underwater, or in your case nasty juice tubing.

Prime time has happened! The first test model was a Plaguebearer to try a dead flesh scheme as well as some weathering tricks and blood work. The photos show it off okay, they lose some if the detail. The base coat is nurgling green skin, scorched brown weapon and bone nails and horn. The sores are carefully washed (stay more or less in the lines) with violet wash then red wash. The creases and folds of the skin were carefully washed with ogryn flesh. The areas of nurgling green not touched by wash were highlighted with the same green cut 50/50 with white and feathered in, keeping with the direction of muscle and tissue. The blood was done with Tamiya clear red first, then shade with clear red and a touch of black. The weapon was finished with some brown, then orange wearing pigments. The base was painted an olive green, washed with mud, dry brushed with bone. The feet and base were finished with a clay then earth pigment. Now that I've got a scheme I can make a video tutorial for you guys. Thanks for stopping by.

Man this thread is getting super long. I think I'm going to start a blog, but might need to make a new thread here for painting purposes. Anyhoo, on to the spawn. I've completed most of the skin and muscle. All the bone color (teeth, nails etc) need work, only based at the moment as do the guts and base details. Then comes weathering and blood but I wanted to show what I've got so far. Enjoy, and please feel free to comment =D Rawr!

Well nearly a year later and I'm back on the CSM. This will be a very slow project moving forward as Hobbytime takes a back seat to baby time. Here is a little preview of my next unit if spawn from River Troll models. The extra arms glue on so nicely.
