So im thinking round one, two, three 1000 points, four five six, 1500, seven eight nine, 2000, and the rest at 2500 the map is amost done as for painting I think we should try to have a new unit painted every round, another cool thing would be to have cetian stuctures that can override things like a castle could overide the 25% lord rule,

where I'd love to play in it, it would completly depend on when it occurs. This semester (Now until May) Is more or less booked between two lab sciences, Crimenology, history pre 1877, work, and an EMT course. Me getting down to the club at all is going to become a rare occurance. After May, depending on if I get hired to be a pre camp ranger, will depend on that situation...

Time commitments are a massive stumbling block for campaigns -- even though I play Fantasy, I don't want to commit to this up front and then flake out after a week or two... it's far too difficult for me to participate with a busy semester at school, and other hobby interests at the time. Still, I just wanted to echo the notion of planning very carefully on ways to make sure involvement is high and everyone has the chance to play for their rounds.
I really really like Bob's idea of having folks buy into a campaign -- I think it gives more incentive to follow through and not drop out halfway through, and lets people fight for something.

Bob...Crimenology? I take it you're not graded for spelling on your arrest reports?

Thing is we need participants to have some time all year round. It's not going to take just one summer so we can't wait for it. I think even if only 4 people have the time that's alright.

I do have the blood in the badlands book if no one else does and that helps.
My struggle is always getting down to the club, but I can certainly host games at my house as well.
I'll be posting my available days off as far in advance as I can to help schedule games. =D

I've got blood in the badlands. I think it's a nice simple ruleset but I'd rather not have so much emphasis storm of magic.
Sounds good Tim. As far as my free days I'm a junior so week days are not possible for me. Weekends work most of the time.

A multi-year campaign? That's not going to work. Aim for something smaller scale that has an achievable ending.

I agree multi-year is far too long, which is why I think we can't have the campaign going just during certain times of the year when more people are free. I think one month per turn, 12 turns, finish in one year.

No, man, that's far too long. People can not make that. As you see above...Bobby can't do stuff until May, and will have the summer available until school comes on again...Mike is the opposite, Steve probably too, they'll be gone all summer.
You have to pick a window (I recommend NO LONGER than 3-4 months), get the folks that are available then, and go. You will never get a large number of people to be able to maintain this commitment over that long a time.
Please understand I speak from a fair amount of experience here. 3-4 months should be the target, and even then we'll have attrition.

I agree with bob 3-4 months is ideal I think we should start maybye part way through February so we could get mike and possibly steven and finish before the summer starts

Bob you have more experience than I do with campaigns so I'll take your word for it. 3-4 months means only 3-4 turns if we do 1 a month. I'd have to think about how to make that work..
