So after my game vs. Brian and his Khador, I realized I really like the new Asphyxious and he will most likely be the next model I buy whenever I get around to dragging my butt back into modelling.
He is a caster definitely meant for infantry and can even handle himself decently in a fight, and with Vociferon has the chance to really load up on souls.
Vs. Brian, this was my list:
Gaspy3
-Vociferon
-Nightmare
-Nightwretch
Min Revenant Crew
Max Mechanithralls
-2 Brute Thralls
Min Soul Hunter Cavalry
Pistol Wraith
Pistol Wraith
Now, I've never used Soul Hunters before so I think I need to practice them with a caster I have a little more experience with first. Though they are part of his tier. Nightmare is great, I think I really just misused him. I found out that with the buffs this incarnation of Gaspy can give out, he can make Revenant Crew and Mechthralls brutal.
I want to try different units out with him, so this is my next attempt at a list with the Hellbringer.
Gaspy3
- Ripjaw
- Seether
Min Blackbane's Ghost Raiders
Min Bloodgorgers
General Gerlak Slaughterborn
Max Mechanithralls
-2 Brute Thralls
Necrosurgeon & Stitch Thralls
Warwitch Siren
I've never used a Ripjaw, and while I don't like 5 points for a bonejack, his vice lock and armour piercing would seem to work well with Gaspy's buffs. The Seether loses the prey and ghostly advantage of Nightmare, but saves me focus. This is probably where I'm most torn and we'll see how the switch pays off between the 4pt bonejack/nightmare or 5pt bonejack/seether.
I love Bloodgorgers but haven't had a ton of success witht them. I'm hoping with this Gaspy I can change that. Like the Revenants they get gang, but they already hit harder with both attacks, so combine with carnage and scything touch should be able to take down most living things and even some light or wounded jacks (most shield walls becomes nothing to worry about when they swinging twice at POW 15 with overtake).
I've only used Ghost Raiders once, but their incorporeal should give me the flanking advantage I had with the Soul Hunters though not as fast (but close to it!). They're only POW 10, but with all magical/continuous flame weapons it should be enough to scare most troops.
The Siren is there so i don't have to spend a focus point on the bonejack and to give me one more magical weapon should I need it.
Thoughts?
