So, I just realized something mildly depressing...
I'm not representing Tzeentch at all anymore.
Here's where I'm at, assembling and prepping to paint:
Herald of Slaanesh (Steed, Greater Gift, Locus of Beguilement) 3 Fiends of Slaanesh 3 Fiends of Slaanesh 12 Daemonettes 12 Daemonettes 12 Bloodletters 10 Plaguebearers 10 Plaguebearers 19 Seekers (Icon) 18 Flesh Hounds 18 Flesh Hounds Soul Grinder (Slaanesh, Torrent) Soul Grinder (Slaanesh, Torrent)
Any thoughts? What bases should be used for 40k Flesh Hounds (GW provides only rectangular fantasy bases with them).

I would think bike bases or 40mm bases. Not really sure.
Looks like a solid list. Covers a fast in your face army while giving you deck chairs and count punch units. It's also a nice MSU style so you can those casualties and still work.

I'd go with the bike bases. 40mm sounds like trouble when your running around with 36 of them all flying in the same direction.

I had the chance to play against this list on our last tournament and it is quick, but that is not the worst part, the problem here is that in top of the swarm of demons rushing on your lines, the two Soul Grinders are also a big threat, so it is very difficult to pick a target to focus fire or engage in melee if your list is good at it.

So, I'm back with a smattering of Tzeentch! This is my latest 1850 iteration: Tzeentch Herald (Disc, Exalted Reward) Slaanesh Herald (Steed, Locus of Beguilment, Greater and Lesser Rewards) 3x 10 Daemonettes2x 10 Horrors15 Seekers2x 15 Flesh HoundsSoul Grinder (Slaanesh, Torrent) Soul Grinder (Slaanesh, Torrent) Soul Grinder (Nurgle, Phlegm) Tz guy would hide with Horrors, handing out Prescience (probably to Hounds, but maybe to a Grinder that needs help) and using Grimoire. Seekers probably primary Grimoire target...use it on them before they move, if it works great, they move ahead full blast and become a lot more survivable...if it doesn't, they run back and become the second wave Slaanesh guy rocks 7 WS7 S5 AP2 attacks, rerolling misses, on the turn he charges, and has the Challenge trick so I can pick on things that need to die. Horrors I strongly dislike, but I dislike the Plagues even more. Plagues literally do nothing but sit there and die...ideally slowly, but not always, so many things Ignore Cover now. The Horrors can at least shoot at soft targets and make them unhappy, and ideally can help blow a little hole in bubble wrap. Everything else is pretty much the same. I miss the Initiative and Psy-power shenanigans of the Fiends, but hopefully the survivability boost from the Grim will compensate?

I think you're a little burnt from the Tau match up, but I don't really disagree with swapping Plagues for Horrors -- I like guys that can at least do something, and the Horrors can manage that. I think the Grimoire is important -- the random factor really blows, but it can make or break that turn 2 engagement you're big on.
I know you didn't post it here, but I like this more than the Bloodcrusher unit... I love the bloodcrusher models, but their rules are just so bad. I would have dropped them to get another Soul Grinder, and kept the Bloodthirster -- if you want another turn 2 threat, I think the BT is a really great one. Also gives you some better options for handling armor/monstrous creatures.

Home from NOVA, here's my wall-of-text: bloodskullsfire.blogspot.com/2013/09/home-from-nova.htmlShort version: I played 16 games in 3 days, won Iron Man, my team won Best Painted in the Trios Team Tournament, I had a tremendous time but am SO wiped out! I played really poorly when it mattered, but had a tremendous time regardless!! Wish I'd had some Ordo Brothers with me!!

That was a nice read, always love your bat reps. 16 games in 4 days is an achievement. I did 11 in 4 at adepticon so I can empathize with you a bit there. I should try to make it to Nova next year, sounds like a blast.

great write up Bob. When I get my army up and running again, I hope I get some more games with you. Its fun having someone with that much analytical ability help me learn something about the game. Sounds like you had a great time. I had hoped to do something similar to this for the Warstore weekend with my flames of war stuff. early war, mid and late all in the same weekend. yay New Jersey!
