Well first, thanks to Warpriest, and in keeping up with Brian's tradition, I wanted to post the results of the 2 games I got to play.
First, I ran the list Brian suggested.
Lylith
Carnivean
Scythean
Shredder
Ogrun spearmen (4 and a sergent)
Blighted Shaman
Turn 1 - everything moved closer to the Menoth folks (he brought harbringer for game 1) I started to learn how fury works, and really like it. Lylith seems to have a limited fury capacity. Which means when I'm running these warbeasts, are there better casters to run? The ogrun ran up and threw there spears, they would spend the next few turns catching on fire and slowing him down
Turn 2 - A really fast pretty painted model with a butchers cleaver came after my Shaman and killed him. But my Scythean still hadn't taken damage by the end of the turn. The Carnivean took some hits, but held up well. The shredder, despite being squished, burned and awed, remained steadfastly determined to be annoying
Turn 3 - My Scythean destroyed one of the casters by maxing out its attacks and left a crater behind, My carnivean then totaled the other one.
Turn 4 - My Scythean freaked out and attacked an invincible paladin. By A dragonfireblast from my Carnivean and a bow show from Lylith finished off the harbringer and ended the game.
Game 2
I thought I was being clever by keeping lylith back, and positioned my two warbeasts carefully. The Ogrun waded into the knights, and did some damage. But before they know what hit them, Mr. Holy popped his feat, and burned lylith to death....which I know should have been frustrating, but it was awesome.
This game rules. I am getting a feel for the rules, and think I like Legion. Their beasts are nasty, ignore some cover rules, and their troops as cannon fodder seem to do some effective damage.
Thanks for the game!
