For those unaware, the New England Team Tournament is one of the oldest and most prestigious team tournament in the country and I've made multiple appearances with some of my friends and while we've never broken the top 3, we've come really close. I attend a lot of tournaments around CT and the Warmachine/Hordes community is booming right now.
Would there be interest in starting a tournament team for the club, so we could represent ourselves in tournament events throughout the area? I figure it'd be good to pool our resources so people can try out new factions, lists, and proxy models to develop an awesome tournament team. The goal would be to send an Ordo Ineptus team to the New England Team Tournament in 2014 (the tournament typically happens in the middle of July).
I know that a lot of us play casually but I figured I'd at least put a feeler out there to see if anyone would be interested in taking their game to the next level. Current experience would be irrelevant, it would just be a commitment to practicing and playing the game to get to a competitive level within the next year or so and I figure we could all help each other get there in a supportive and experimental environment.
Anyone interested?

I've been itching to play some more WM/H and get my feet wet with some smaller, local tournaments. I'd love to jump on board an Ordo tournament team (though it's impossible for me to commit this far in advance to the team tournament -- I have no idea what shape my summer will take next year, it's hard to say if I'll even be in the area!). It would be a great way to get games in and keep practicing, and I know there are other team events in the area (heck, even if we just all go to the same events that could be rad!).
Count me in!

I would also be interested in this, especially if I have a year to get things ready. I need to do a lot of learning and list building if I were to get into something like this. I also would point out that if I am not a person sent, I have no problems with that. Tim's models look cooler, Bobby and Bob have more playing time, and Sean is....well its Sean. But count me in as interested.

Great to hear so far! I wasn't thinking so much as a firm "yes" for going next year, but rather as an interest in developing a team of us to represent the club in tournaments, with a goal of sending a team (or two!) to the New England Team Tournament next year. I know that the Dark Omen guys from Clockwork Comics and Flagship Games send teams to events and I thought it'd be cool if we did something similar. If anyone is interested in playing in some of the other tournaments, feel free to look for the Warmachine/Hordes New England facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/345750005443516/

I'm interested as well. I haven't gotten to play much in the last few years, so this is a good way to fix that.

Would there any days which would be ideal for getting together to play some games and "train"?
Also, would it be worthwhile to post up a list of tournaments being hosted in the area?

Saturday is the only day I can go to Hobby town. It's too far to fit in my schedule during the week. An occasional could work.
However, I'm working on cleaning out a room to set up a table in my house in Bethel. I would be able to game far more often that way. It's a finished room in the basement next to the garage, so I would be able to have the garage door open to keep an eye on the kids while they play. Or it's also good for the night while they're sleeping.

A list of local area tournaments would be really awesome; I'd like to try and make it to a few events this summer but have trouble finding WM/H tourneys as easily as 40k ones.
Finding a set, consistent day that works week after week for practice might be hard for me with a shifting schedule (and obviously, my ability to play in person is limited by when I'm off of school). But I do agree that it's important to shoot for getting a game in every week.

The Warmachine/Hordes New England facebook group usually has a lot of Press Gangers posting up info on tournaments. Also there's a New Jersey group, for those not too far away. www.facebook.com/groups/378017268962691/www.facebook.com/groups/378017268962691/I'm aware of a 35 pt. tournament on July 7th at the Battle Standard and I know that Card Empire in Torrington will often have small tournaments on the last Saturday of a month. I'll make sure to post any tournaments as I hear of them!

There's a 50 pt. Hardcore tournament at the Battle Standard on August 25th, if anyone wants to train for that. Hardcore is a really fun format since it's a lot like the old 'Ard Boyz tournaments.

Where I'd truly love to be there, I'm up at camp. If anyone goes, good luck, do well, and send Battle Reports

I go back to school the 24th Boo! Are there any decently local events in July we could try to get a good club showing for? Even if many of us are tournament noobs, it could be fun to all go and lose together

Like I said, there's the July 7th tournament at the Battle Standard and there's also a tournament July 6th that's NETT practice at Flagship: "50pt SR2013 2 List Divide & Conquer [1] 42minute Deathclock timing 16 player capacity 11am start Dice at Noon Final Table pending attendance $10 entry Coins for First, Second, & Third plus other prizes pending attendance"
The guys at flagship might be a bit too intense for most of us at the club, but I do recommend the Battle Standard even though it's a hike. Maybe we could carpool?
