BEAT THE HEAT... BY BEATING FACE!!!
The summer campaign season has arrived in Western Immoren! The powerful nations of the Iron Kingdoms and the fearsome tribes of the wild prepare for pitched battle, where their strongest champions will go head to head in pursuit of total conquest!
Building off of last month’s Warmachine/Hordes tournament, we’ll be hosting a slow-paced, low-stress league to encourage people to keep working on their armies this summer. The format is really simple: three rounds, two weeks per round, with an escalating suggested points value to push you to expand both your forces and tactical prowess!
Round 1: Blood
July 1st-14th
25 Points
Round 2: Sweat
July 15th-28th
35 Points
Round 3: Tears
July 29th – August 11th
50 Points
Depending on how well things go (and how interested folks are), we may extend the league for another week or two with a bonus round, consisting of fun objectives/scenarios/minigames for people to catch up on missed games and switch up the standings. Okay, so what does the scoring actually look like?
3 points/victory
2 points/draw or loss
--- you may only count your three best games of the round towards your total score!
2 points/playing a game with a fully painted army
---once per round, please post pictures!
1 point/writing a battle report
---once per round, can be tactical or fluffy or both!
1 point/playing a game using the round’s Steamroller scenario
---once per round, regardless of the outcome!
I will keep a running tally of points here on the Ordo boards, to track everyone’s progress. I will post a new thread at the start of each round – this will have a running tally of participants’ points, and also include the specific Steamroller scenario for the round. I ask that all information related to scoring be posted in that thread – the results of your games, pictures of your army, and battle reports (I will compile it from there). At the league’s conclusion, we will recognize the accomplishments of our victors! But, these summer skirmishes are leading to something bigger. The league is not merely building off of last month’s event, but also giving people a chance to build their armies, paint their models, practice their lists, and rehearse the Steamroller scenarios for an Ordo Ineptus 50 point Steamroller tournament in October!
Are you prepared to slug it out under the summer sun, and test your mettle against your Ordo Ineptus brethren? If you would like to sign up, post your name and faction here. If you have questions, post those here too!
Thanks,
Brian

FAQ:
What are the army restrictions?
The only restriction is that you play the same faction for the duration of the league. You are free to change your caster and list before each game (though remember, practice makes perfect!). The points limits for each round are intentional, but not prohibitive – they provide a transition from the 25 point event to the 50 point event, giving the club a chance to relearn the rules and get a handle on painting our models. If you want to play at a higher point level (for tournament prep, for instance) that’s permissible – as is playing at a lower points value if you’re just starting out! I will note that the League Point for a fully painted army will only apply to a game played at the round’s point value.
What if I’m going on vacation? What if I want to join halfway through? What is a warjack anyways?
Above all else, I want to stress that this League is for fun – low stress, and no crazy commitment. If you’re gone for a week, no sweat! If you decide halfway through the summer that you want to take the plunge into Warmachine/Hordes, please join us! It’s no problem to add a name to the roster halfway through the summer, and certainly not a problem if you aren’t able to play many games per round (though playing lots of games is obviously the goal!). While this league is building off of the previous tournament, I’d absolutely love it if some new players who were interested in the game took part in it.
Can I play on Vassal?
Yes, you can count your Vassal games for the League. However, you will only be able to score points for a fully painted army by playing on the table top… this is your incentive to get out to the club and get some face to face games in! Also, you can only score games played against fellow Ordo members who are participating in the League (and since anyone can join the League at any point in time, there’s no reason for someone not to be a part of it!).
How much does it cost to participate? What’s the loot?
There is no cost to play – conversely, don’t expect any crazy prize support (though I promise to think of something cool for the victors!).
Will Sean be there?
I haven’t seen him around in a while, so we might be safe… but no promises!
