Hey, this is mostly a Tim question I guess, but I am curious how people embellish their chitin for tyranids. Feathering in particular interested me as a possible addition to my carnivean heavies.
Any advice?

One of Tim's more recent videos is actually all about feathering Tyranid plates. You should watch that.

Tim's FeatheringYeah he's got me covered. really well done. If I am using the graveyard earth type brown I'm assuming I should feather a whitened color of that brown? I'm bad with color theory...but I think I'll give that a try soon.

Feathering isn't necessarily a highlight. You could use a darker color, or at least not rule out the option. Additionally you could use a darker color, then a lighter color. Don't be afraid to give it a try and see how it looks. Ultimately you want to draw attention to it on the model.

I'm a little worried that the second coat of brown, which is a graveyard earth, will be too light. But I will try the darker feathering and see how it goes.
