Well New Years has long come and gone. Resolutions are overrated anyhow. I think I've long given up on the idea that everything I currently own will be painted and ready for the table before I buy anything else. But I miss something to keep me honest. Last year, Rod and I had a friendly wager for a sandwich, that I could paint my German Grenadiers before he could get his tanks done. I won, narrowly. I've tried to get Rod or Kevin going with their painting, but since both are busy fathers with little kids now, its difficult to get them to commit to painting in between the dirty diapers. I haven't gotten to see Tim very much either, Oliver has him so busy, I think he told me he's gotten to game maybe twice since the little guy came? So it looks like a wager on painting timetable is out. Resolutions imply preordained defeat.
So I went looking for an idea to bring us some more cool postings, help us motivate each other, and not make it into a competition. I know we've posted isolated projects completed before, but I wanted to formalize it a bit. Making a single thread to update people on projects and painting I've finished this year would be my suggestion. So I will be making my own for 2015, and encourage you guys to do the same. Its not a blog, but it gives everyone a place to share their cool ideas and interesting projects and in the end, isn't that half the fun of having our own forum?
This has the added Bonus of giving us a record of what we've finished painting in a given year when we look back this December.
I would suggest you make your own thread, update it and add posts as we go and as you complete things. Maybe we pin these so we have a table of contents for club members stuff?
Randy's neat website inspired me today as I saw it popup on my facebook feed. Really nice stuff Randy.
Come Join me and Happy posting!
