Result: Germans 380pts+(appoximately) Allies 26 pts GERMAN STRATEGIC VICTORY: "You have completely halted the 21st Army Group and smashed 3 airborne divisions. By holding the Meuse-Esccaut Canal you have stopped the allied advance and allowed a massive buildup of German Armor to occur on the flanks of your enemies. Von Schlieffen would be proud. A winter offensive can now retake the channel ports and cut off the American army to the south.
The Mastery of the German Army is complete. German victory is in sight."Since the Germans won the first 3 initiative rolls, they reduced and destroyed most of the British Airborne. And without any hope of even bringing us within 150 points, Kevin and I decided to call the campaign early. Nothing the allies can at this point do would change the overall outcome. The Fifth turn is therefore wrapped up and we simulated the final games this afternoon. The allies lost by over 300 points, did not succeed in taking any major objective, and lost 2 full airborne divisions in the process. The defeat was so total as to render the scale on the board unable to properly quantify it. I'm sorry for letting down my allied comrades, as I feel my strategic blunders cost us quite a bit. I had a lot fun games, and I think the campaign encouraged a lot of moving minis, and the system was a fun thing to try out with all the rules in action. I hope those who got the chance to jump in had some fun, a big thanks to all who participated. Congratulations go to the Germans for their tenacious defense of the bridges and a smashing success. The Final Map:

Win or lose, this was such a fun campaign! Thanks to both generals for putting on such a great summer event - anything that got us all playing that many games can only be a good thing!

Thanks, everyone, for the experience! This was my first time really playing FOW, and I learned a lot about the game. I was also able to put together a pretty decent army in the process. I hope we still have an opportunity to have our end of campaign Big Battle.
