Dark Elves sounds great too. A tough matchup if heavy shooting and magic (which I'm sure it will be).
Some not-so-good news...I'd thought I had work off tomorrow, but was disappointed to find that we don't, it's a normal workday. I'm going to leave early, expect to be at Hobbytown about 4:30.

Yeah it's a normal workday for us too. I should be over there sometime between 4 and 5. Some shooting in the army. I've got a pair of reapers and my core are all crossbowmen. Magic not so much. There will be a small amount or none at all depending on how I put together my list (I'm going to try and finish a model tonight that I've left half painted for the past five years)

Going against consensus is a treturous thing.......

Tretorous doesn't sound as bad as treacherous, so I can live with that My skaven are just not up to par for 2250 games. When I originally bought most of my stuff it was back in 5th ed and I got a screaming bell, the doomwheel a couple rat ogres, and I think maybe a unit of clanrats and a few plaguemonks and censer bearers and I was going to field like an 800 pt army of just that, because in those days, you could. When 6th ed came out, I was kind of scrambling to get 2000 points out of them, so there was never really a plan of how I was going to build the army, I was just trying to get to 2000, and I needed to bring the doomwheel in with the citadel journal rules just to do that. My orks and goblins army is similar in that I kind of threw together all of the random orcs and goblin stuff I had lying around and made an army. Sometime in the next year I want to revamp them and add in some of the Skull Pass stuff.

Thanks again for a great game, Bob. I have a pair of cuban cigars that I've been saving for the last few years for a special occasion, and you'll be honored to know that I decided that finally beating you in a game of Warhammer was worthy of lighting one up, so I've got my cuban cigar, a glass of wine and my feet up as I write this. . o 0 O () That was a smoke ring I hope you are similarly relaxing and getting some rest. A-Bob, Bri and BroFran, it was good to see you guys again - I missed the pizza place gaming night and the first week at hobbytown so I know it had been a few months. Hopefully I'll get to play against one of you guys sometime in the next few weeks. I know there are still a few people from the club I've never played, or only played a while back. That'll be one cool aspect of the map campaign that I'm looking forward to is the opportunity to play against everyone - I came into Ekstrafar late last year so I think I only played a few people.

I think I beat your tau in the Ekstrafar campagin. Oh no, wait, I think that may have been Snapple. I remember I beat somebody's tau and that was my only win, and I lost to Ricky and to James. Yeah, I think that was Chris. Yeah we'll defintely have to play a game Evan. I want to give someone else a turn Monday but the following Monday defintely. Maybe I'll have some of my marauders painted and we can do a small High Elves/WoC fight.

That sounds cool to me. I think I will not be playing this monday aswell. I have played the last 4 times. I will still be there and will bring my table. To fight you, Jason, I will make up a "new" list. Tonight I made a new one from what I normally do and it worked well. I have to test all my units out and than I can make a master list for the summer.

I can't remember if I mentioned it on the board or in conversation at Hobbytown, but what I'm going to do is have everyone post a list for their banners, that they have to stick to, but your army can spend a campaign turn doing nothing but reforming and redo your list. That way if something really isn't working for you, you're not stuck with it for the whole time, while at the same time people won't be able to create lists specifically for the person they're going to be playing.

I like that idea. When do you think you will want the first lists done?

Nice to see you lads too!
Will it be a list for each individual banner (army) or one that applies to your whole force map-wide? I like the latter idea, the first one means it's still easy to shoot specialized army banners torwards certain players looking to optimize their lists against a certain codex.
I gotta start fiddling with my Warriors now bleh.

I don't think that's going to be too big of a problem. There's going to be nine other players bouncing around the map, and for most of the campaign, each person is probably going to only have one or two banners, so setting up a banner to fight just one person's army would be counterproductive. With about a dozen or more enemy banners kicking around on the map, and with everybody doing 'secret' moves that are all executed simultaneously, specifically setting up a banner to fight a specific army and trying to engage that army without encountering another enemy banner would be a gamble. Plus, since winning a battle in and of itself does not usually get you anything you couldn't get by just moving into an unoccupied territory and taking it over, spending a campaign turn reforming just to tool out someone's army may not be the best course of action in the long run, and should probably be reserved for 'must win' scenarios, where an army is camped out and dug in on a crucial territory. What I think it will do is, like I said, allow people to make changes in an army that just doesn't seem to be working for them, or for people with an army list that that simply does not stacak up well to another particular army (like a high casting army to Bob's current Khornecow list, or his list to my Dark Elf list from last night) to try to keep that army away from such a 'kryptonite' army and have another one in the vicinity instead. For example, my starting WoC army has a pair of level twos, which is a moderate amount of casting. When I get enough territories to add a second banner, I would probably do a version that had either more casting or less casting. While neither woulde be geared to fight any specific army, I would defintely do my best to keep my highest casting dice army as far away from the 11 dispel dice khorne cows list

Will we be able to ally and work together with other armies throughout the campaign?

how would you be able to ally with someone. Lets say you both land on the same territory, who get's it. At the end of the campaign if you and your ally have the same number of territories who wins?

Thanks Dr. C! While I didn't get to relax in quite the classy fashion you did, I did manage to coerce Eric to talk his Mrs-to-be in to letting him stay up late for a Vassal game...we did 1500 Daemons vs. MC Eldar (2 wraith thingies and an avatar!)...it was an 8 to 5 win for the Eldar, fun game...I'm always learning something new when I play Eric! I've been wracking my brain all day trying to come up with an army I could put on the table (painted or not!) that I think would put up a fight vs. the Dark Elven beasts of doom...but I'm at a loss! I reserve the right for re-match at a later date!
