Last night Vince and I played a demo game. Vince played the Royalists and I the Rogues. We rolled the dice and played Recover the Paychest. For the first time Vince did not have the proper models and had to proxy his anamorphic animal minis. Here come the Space Marines! We found right away this scenario would not work as you have to make an awareness check of 12 to find the chest. We both had an awareness D6 and even with modifiers would not be able to find the chest so as we do in ordo, we went for it and just duked it out. Vince had a hidden figure which plays weird as I know where it is and moved my figure towards it but I am not really suppose to know it is there. His next move he ambushed me and with modifiers just about killed my best figure, the Otter. Seen here represented by a Dacian. But have no fear, the rest of my warband was coming to the rescue. It was never much of a fight. The new wounds rule really crippled me. You take a -1 to all tests every three wounds. Vince got me down to 50% rather quick and I was not able to take out any of his models. We liked the game and the ruleset but I need to readjust. Wes was correct, I need a heavy hitter. Also I do not like the Rogues. They seem to have the least benefits to playing. My next War Band will be the FreeBeasts.

Don't forget that you add to your search bonus each turn you're searching a terrain piece, as well as with each model assisting. And be sure to post your feedback on the FB page. He's pretty quick in responding.

Yeah, even with the modifiers we couldn't do a successful search. I just posted our demo on their facebook page.

I received and answer to the chest search issue and the hidden mini ruling.
"There is a good reason you could not score the 12 you needed... and that's because the 12 is supposed to be a 7! I totally missed it during the last round of editing - sorry! I'll fix the .pdf now...
Hiding - I know it seems a bit weird to send people looking for Hidden models, but the idea is that your heroes know somebody's out there, somewhere... they just don't know exactly where.
As a player, you can obviously see the model, so you can move one or more models towards them to try and flush them out by forcing to Test for Hiding as their next Action, but you take the risk of being Ambushed. Which when it works, can be brutal..."
