February 18th 10:00-5:30
Hobbytown, New Milford
We'll take up to 10 people. If we get full, we'll see if we can set up a 6th table.
All published Army Books; no FW or player-made armies (sorry, Chaos Dwarves!).
Armies must be no more than 2500 points.
Rules Addendum
- Characters in units that are affected by spells that cause the removal of models (eg Dwellers Below; Infernal Gateway; Final Transmutation; Purple Sun; Pit of Shades) will receive a Look Out Sir! roll. The above list is not all-inclusive. See me on case-by-case for other spells that I've not foreseen.
- Only 12 Power Dice total are allowed to be used in a player's Magic Phase. If a spell or item would generate more than 12 total dice, excess dice are lost. (For example: a Dark Elf player rolls 10 for winds of magic. He uses 6 dice on other spells, leaving 4 dice. He casts Power of Darkness, generating 4 extra dice. That would take the total dice to 14, so 2 of the dice generated are lost.)
Cost will be $15, and includes Pizza!
No painting is required. "Light" proxy is allowed on case-by-case basis: contact me via PM to discuss.
The first mission will be Battleline. In addition, a number of "objectives" will be placed on the battlefield, each worth additional Victory Points. These objectives can be "controlled" by having at least one of your Core models within 3" of the objective marker, and no enemy models within 3". Note that only Core can control, but any model can "contest". Winner is determined by Victory Points as normal, with the inclusion of Objectives. Five objectives each worth 100 victory points will be placed on the table: one in the middle of each table quarter, and one in the exact middle of the table.
The Second Battle will be modified Blood and Glory. The game will not immediately end when one army goes below its Break Point. Instead the first player to force his opponent to fall below the Break Point will receive a 1000 point bonus! The game will continue for the full six turns, giving the player who was Broken the opportunity to come back from defeat by decisive decimation of his opponent.
The Third game will be Meeting Engagement, with the addition of Table Quarters. A Table Quarter can be controlled by having more points worth of Core models inside a Quarter than your opponent. A player who has more Core points inside a table quarter than his opponent will receive a 200 VP bonus per table quarter. Note that a given Unit can only be in one Quarter, that in which the majority of its models lie. If exactly even, it will be randomly determined.
Win/Draw/Loss is determined IAW the Rulebook...double your opponent's Victory Points to win, otherwise a Draw. You will receive 10 points for a Win; 5 points for a Draw; and 1 point for a Loss.
Overall score will include Appearance. Appearance will be judged subjectively: three judges will rank armies "best" to "worst", top score gets 10 points; second gets 9, etc. If you army is not COMPLETELY painted (3-color minimum & based) then your score will be a zero regardless of judge's placement. Note that this means one quarter of your overall score is based on your army's appearance, so get those paint brushes going!
We’ll only have about 2 hours to play, so be prepared to play at a frantic pace! I recommend setting up movement trays to be used for deployment and setting your guys in there as you go.
You are required to bring hard-copies of your army (in a legible format, please!) for your opponents. You are also required to bring all the items you will need to play: dice, ruler, rules, army book, etc.
Please register no later than Feb 13th. All Army Lists must be submitted to me via PM or email (rodaacwgc@gmail.com) no later than Feb 14th. Payment can be made in advance or at the door.
