Nid rumors are happening. Likely a Jan release, but possibly a Dec release. We will find out soon. For now some new shinies. This image is from 40kwarzone.blogspot.com.au. Question, does that look like Hive Guard will have weapon options? That gun on the left is distinctly different, and looks new to me. Single Str 10 AP1 barb?

Interesting, I'm wondering if this time they will give more range options to the bugs, that would definitely change the way they play

The Tyranid rumors are piling in. I'm getting super excited. Sadly this comes in january after christmas spending but its not matter, the bugs are too cool to be ignored. I hope my wife forgives me. imgur.com/a/VDlXy

Jeez, between this and the Godzilla trailer it's like an early Christmas for 10 year old Brian! Tyranid Prime looks cool -- some folks were clamoring over a new Warrior kit, but I don't think that's the case. More likely just the plastic clamshell for the Prime. Really cool model, but I'm happy with my old-school Tyrant-prime. Also, I hope this thing gets a better name than "Tyranid Prime" -- Warrior Prime, Warrior Alpha, whatever. The generic use of "Tyranid" is lame. Giant gunbug is cool, about half the size that I think it should be though definitely eager for a full picture of the beastie. Curious how his rules will compare to the Tyrannofex, since they look to cover the same sort of design space. Giant eatybug is cool as well, I like it a bit more. The mouth looks weird, but I think that's because the mandible tentacle things are just painted strangely. Looks like a walking Mawloc, but it also looks pretty jacked... fits the design space better for a fearsome combat beast. A hulking mass of muscle -- a Carnifex+ rather than the Ravener+ (like the Trygon). Harpy doesn't look bad? It looks like an organic fighter plane with a head in the picture, but that could just be the angle -- my hope is that it would look more like a living creature, than a rigid wings-straight-out-guns-pointed-dead-ahead sort of deal. The alternate Harpy is hands down my favorite of these sculpts, that thing looks freaking awesome. And has crazy facehuggers hanging onto that you totally know are going to rain from the sky. The Tyrant Guard model is pretty cool -- wasn't sure about the weird carapace first, but I think it's a sweet look. Could still be a combo-kit with Hive Guard (which is my guess). I'll likely buy one box of each critter on day 1, just to add to the Hive Fleet... now of course we have to see how the rules look too, whether bugs will be good enough to seriously stand on the table across from Taudar/Screamerstar shenanigans, and which models are the new hotness that are worth stocking up on. It also looks like some old options are gone -- Mycetic Spores, Shrikes, and Sky-slashers (flying Rippers) are all out of the codex, as it looks like GW gave up on model support. I'm not personally heartbroken, but this massively blows for people who created entire Spore-drop lists or converted their own flying warriors/rippers ("you can use the forge world rules!" -people who don't play in tournaments). On one hand it's cool that only Marines can do the all reserve drop pod army, but on the other... mycetic spores are a huge part of Nid fluff, and perfectly appropriate. Special characters who never got models are also hanging in limbo -- not sure if Doom or Parasite made it into the book.

Tyranid rumors and models look really cool. Army might actually get me to put down dark eldar for a bit lol. Well depends how the madness swirling in tournament scenes ends up. It could be tyranids or build forege world revenant titan that has been under spare bed for 3 years lol.

Yeah definitely going to be picking some stuff up in January - this is one of the reasons I've been trying to get some of my hobby loose ends finished before the new year. "Eatybug" just made my whole day

Well maybe we can have a 100% Nid tournament at Hobby Town at this rate. =D

Ya have to say I'm tempted to start a Tyranid army. New models look pretty good.

Start one, then we can have 4 hive fleets from Ordo, we can swarm upon the local scene and claim it's biomass for our own!

Ordered the codex against my better judgment. Been too long since I started a new army.

I've ordered one of every new box from Craig, including the swarm. Might get the physical book, undecided.

A lot of people are freaking out over the 11th hour rumors... but im actually upbeat and excited about the codex. More monsters more gribblies... seems like fun to me.

My political answer: I'm looking forward to figuring out what the effective builds/units will be with the new book I've had longer to get bitter/frustrated with bugs than all you band wagon whipper snappers (just kidding!). I'm mostly perplexed by some of the things that stayed the same (some units have been bad for 4 years... They don't really change anything and just plan on leaving them bad for another 4?), all the "nerfs" that the internet is frustrated with are things that were expectable and understandable. As much as I'll miss the glory days of the Iron Armed godkiller Swarmlord, it's time for the Hive Mind to move on and unleash some new armies on the battlefield! My predictions: Flyrant is the nobrainer HQ, Hive Guard and Venomthropes for Elites, usual Tervigon/Termagant troops choices, Gargoyles and maaaybe flyers for FA (I'm down on T5/4+)... lots of options for heavy support, Mawlocs, Exocrines, Carnifexen, and maybe Tyrannofex all look like they have potential. I think Sean's onto something with the Carnifexen herd (and tbh, I'm excited to relive the glory days of the first months of 6th edition). I think some monstrous creature beef with decent shooting, backed up by a horde of gaunts, with some venomthrope cover will be a strong starting point.
