What if I said I'd been introduced to a Napoleonic game that was made for minimal number of 15mm models, was designed for larger-scale battles (1 base = 1 brigade = 4 models) and/or 'competitive' points-based games that take < 1 hour to play (a 12-point game would have roughly 12 bases...), requires only 1 die per player, and takes about a 2'x 2' area to play (at 12 points)? What if I said I also found a fun campaign system (for a different but similar game) that could be easily adapted to this game, allowing multiple players to participate in a campaign where troops and generals gain experience and gentlemanly & chivalrous behavior is rewarded? bloodskullsfire.blogspot.com/2014/01/missions-leagues-and-something-new.html

Hey! I was at a small gaming convention last weekend and saw some guys playing this - you could do it on little more than a coffee table! It looked cool, I was very interested! Let me know how it goes if you play.

Version2.1Complete.pdf (507.92 KB) This is DBN's latest version. The rules read horrible...but trust me they're quick and easy, quite abstract (read my review in link above). Anyone interested, review, consider that a 12 point army will be AT MOST 50 figures, and that figures run between 20 and 50 cents each at 15mm...more for cavalry...but you're looking at a whole army for very little... If you get together with others you can probably do it even cheaper. I'll get some stuff together for a demo game (will be french on french, sadly!) sometime in the next few weeks.

So a couple tenners for a little Napoleonic army? Sounds like fun... good way to get a better handle on the history of that era as well. I wanna play the Russians! Or the Prussians! We can add this to the list of demos I want to try.

That's a pretty good deal. I of course will be joining you on the French side.
