Hey guys, I'm sure you're aware That Age of Sigmar has come out for Fantasy, but there are some bugs that can keep us From playing, I have a couple of ones myself that I worked out, and If you guys have other questions I probably have an answer...
How can we play with no points costs? I actually have made(heard of) a great system. You use all the attacks, with using the highest on D6 or D3, ect, then add their wounds, then multiply the bravery.
How do I get the warscrolls and other rules? This is fairly easy, you can go on the games workshop website and download the free rules for all your armies and the game rules themselves.
Any other questions just tell me below, and we can go from there. I think that people will like the game if they play it as sort of like the other games.

Have you tried that system? I'm skeptical of anything that uses wounds/damage, I just don't see it adding up fairly. So far I've used 8th edition points which is very far from perfect, but at least it's somewhere to start from.
Honestly though I tried a few AoS games, and I'd still much rather prefer 8th edition. Others are looking into kings of war 2. IF GW fixed the flaws of the game, it would be ok, but it's doubtful they will add points of fix mechanics like summoning.

So you're telling me that my crappy skeleton warrior is worth 20 points? While a high elf spearman is worth 12 points and is much better?

The thing is that with skeletons, lizardmen, zombies and such are all able to be summoned, so your wizards are able to double the amount of guys in your army, being able to raise 2 or 3 units a turn. ANd with the lizardmen, a saurus warrior would be 40 points, but you can easily get a group of 10 of them for nothing.

Yes, I have tried the system and it really works. Event though what bob said is true, summoning justifies for it. I have a feeling that mauraders are not going to cost like anything, because blood reavers are only like 6 points

I'd have to try out a game with that system and compare lists to be convinced.
How could blood reavers be 6pts? You said it's wounds+attacks, which is a minimum of 2, meaning they'd need bravery 3 to cost 6pts. Most of your basic troop type are going to cost around 10pts same as marauders.

The blood reavers are actually bravery five, one attack one wound so I was wrong they are ten points

So around the same cost as your average quality trooper. I'd like to try this new system out at some point.

So I'm actually really excited about playing Age of Sigmar, though don't know when I'll get the time. That said I just found a post on Spikey Bits with a pretty legit and at first glance solid PDF for balanced/competitive play. www.spikeybits.com/2015/07/age-of-sigmar-errata-competitive-play-rules-leaked.htmlWhat do you guys think? Also, anyone have any interest in trading, I've got Khrone and am looking for Sigmarines.

It's far from perfect, but man does that new FAQ fix a lot of wholes. No more shooting when you're being attacked, limits the really good command abilities, clarifies some other rules that needed clarification. Definitely a step in the right direction. Summoning rules are a bit better, at least you can summon wizards who can then summon more stuff, but at least it's a limitation on summoning.
As far as the army selection method goes I think that could work. You're not going to be able to take something like an elf prince on a dragon unless you're playing 75pts, and if you do you're using up hero and monster points, plus bigger units have an advantage. I'd like to try it out to see if it works.
