Last Update - July 9th-Saturday
Events of July 9th -
Caught off guard by work and other commitments, the Germans mustered 2 active players to the allies 3 active players. George came too late to helpRod's forced arrived too late in the day due to a napping and an adorable child.
Participants -
Game 1 - David's 82nd Airborne assaulted the Bridge to their south in an attempt to tie in their dropzones and await relief by XXX Corps and VIII Corps in a few days. They burned up a supply and suffered a close loss to elements of the 2nd SS in the Area. Kevin's troops held the bridge, and left a Regiment of 82nd Airborne Troops isolated and in danger of being destroyed.
Game 2 - Shane's Germans Siezed the Initiative and launched an assault from the road into elements of the 101st airborne division near their canal objectives. Trained Tigers ran into lead elements of 11th Armored's motor company contingent that had been isolated from the main body led by Tom. The German attack was halted, but as a cost of all of the airborne supplies in the immediate vicinity. The next attack will have the airborne troops cut off and hoping for supplies.
Game 3 - XXX Corps's attack, Led by Wes up the central road towards Eindhoven was successful in clearing away fallschrimjager troops in the area as well as Tiger tanks and armor commanded by Shane. Eindhoven is likely the next target should the allies sieze the initiative.
Game 4 - Tom led Irish guards Sherman tanks, supported by Sextons and 5.5" batteries in a bloody 4-3 fight to clear the road north of the jumping off point for XII Corps in the face of Kevin's SS troops. The first bridge across a canal was siezed.
Explotation moves allowed British airborne to sieze the road between their drop zones, the Taking of Grosebeck heights by the 82nd, and the siezure of the Son forrest by the 101st, putting them within a stone's throw of Eindhoven.
2 weeks remain. Get in your battles and post them here. I'll amend the map as we go.
