Hey guys, I'm working on motivation to get cracking on my FoW stuff so I was wondering if anyone knew of any good reference sites for various camo patters and the such. Also quick question... Did all tanks in a unit/platoon always have the same camo patterns? How common would it be for a unit of tanks to have mixed camo patterns amongst them? Thanks in advance guys and hopefully I can get some pics of painted stuff up soon. ^.^

just do a google image search for german tank camo patterns and you'll find some great stuff. As far as I know, a platoon would have similar camo.

I have a book I can lend you for some inspiration. The colours of war lists paint schemes by year as well.
By the later part of the war, you would see a variety of camp schemes and patterns in the same unit. So if you're doing a list from desperate measures or berlin, your hodgepodge schemes can look awesome and would fit historically

I'll definatly take a look at the book but don't know if Id actually feel comfortable borrowing it for now with how random/infrequently I have been at the shop recently. Also thanks for the tip about the late war german list/camo ideas. To be honest I haven't really thought much about an actual historical reference for my army (maybe I should) but was curious in general. Been building inspiration/motivation and was laying some camo tests down on stuff I have so wasn't/aren't super concerned about historical accuracy at the moment (mainly getting paint on stuff again) but idealy Id like to be able to field something that dosent look out of place.

For my tanks i generally have a grey or tan base coat then do some detail work for the base colors... then I airbrush lines of brown and green. Do some finish on the treads and such amd boom!
