We're going to have to shrink the table, since it is too wide for us to be able to reach the middle (4 feet from the nearest edge). The table can't be more than 6 feet wide. We could do a 12x6, but that would make it a long distance to travel from the ends, so I suggest we go to an 8x6 at a lower point value, such as 1500 per company, so the models don't just pile up. If this gets bigger than 3v3 we'll have to modify more... If we wind up going 4 on 4, maybe we have the board as shown above. 2 feet shorter lengthwise, and 2 feet shorter on both bridge sides. additionally, I had envisioned deployment happening using the cauldron type rules (not random deployment) but letting the attacker deploy anywhere outside of 16" and line of sight of enemy teams, or 8" from recce teams, or outside of 4" if in concealment. Something to get the action going quickly? I also agree with you in that I don't want the attackers reserves needing to travel too far to get into combat. I think the smaller table accomplishes that? Also if we have 4 on 4, we would have 3 attacking companies at 1500 pts each. maybe give the defending company 1750? to balance it a bit early, but let them get overwhelemed late?

Vince and I can bring some snacks. Is the start 10am? We can be there early to help set up. Also we need an address.

I think 4v4 with everyone at 1500 would be best. The 3:1 odds on each table will begin at somewhere around 1.5:1 which is actually below what you would see in a typical defensive battle with the defender suffering from reserves, or even worse, delayed reserves at 2:1. With the tables not packed with terrain, this could lead to smoother battles than having the defenders having what could be a tremendous force up front relative to the attackers gunning down the attackers' starting force.

Shane what time would you like people to come by? I don't want to crash down the gates too early We won't be setting up the night before, so we'll just do it together in the morning. I can swing by the store on Saturday night to grab some terrain, and I'll add mine to the pile. I was going to bring some chili in a slow cooker and some tortilla chips. Kevin, I think that sounds good. 4 v. 4 1500 pts. I know what you mean about the defender normally having reserves, but I think if we don't bulk up on terrain too much, you'll be able to get at the defenders pretty quick in either case. I'm curious to see how this goes. I've been painting, but it'll be proxy city for me.

Tom - you said 1500 each for the 3 attackers on each side and sticking with 1750 for defenders?

No 1500 all around
I did not make it to the store today to grab tables, I was waiting for my wife to get home with the bigger car so I could head over, but she never showed. She had to stay down at her parents another night for unexpected family stuff. So what I can cram in my car is what I've got.
I have 4 sections of 2 foot by 4 foot flat boards and some felt. I have a good amount of roads, buildings and some trees. If anyone has a folding table or two, please bring them. Shane has a good amount of stuff, but we'll need some more to make it look right.

My brother is using my folding tables right now, so I don't have them available. Where does this leave us? Should we do this at the store at 11 instead?
