Hello. With the last box done now time for the next project. No paint other than the basecoat of black on this yet. Still trying to decide if I want o do a monotone red scheme on the stealers or pick out the spines/ribbed parts out in black similar to the broodlord. And I magnetized the front rending talon arms and the pairs of scything talons from the box. I title this pic "I wuv you this much"

Hello all again. With the summer campaign approaching I need/want to get my Space Marines painted so here I give you my current need to paint... And because I can, a poorly converted Librarian Kreoss with Force weapon and bolt Pistol. And heres a few pics of my recently finished Baal Predator.

love the weathering and battle damage, awesome detailing, you just keep improving on each model I see
probably I would like to see the Templar Cross a little bit bigger, but that is more a taste preference.
Do you work with a blue light??

Yea the mud/weathering and battle damage came out really well, looks better inperson, wasn't able to take some decen photos. And my lights are just regular lightbulbs. Nothi special as far as I know. And the crosses I cheated this time and used some decals wanted some straight lines not shaley free handed ones but once I save for an airbrush I'll start stenciling them all pnbut for now that's out of the price range.

Hello, thought is stop by and post a wip shot of my honor guards progress. The robes on the models are done minus details, and the blade of The champions powersword is finished. Also I have started work on my freehand banner and it's comming out better than I thought. comments / criticism welcomed.

How are you painting your robes? I'm trying to tackle a Crusader squad on my own end, but I have no idea how you get such great results on the cloth robes haha.

What I do for the robes.....
Colors: Dheneb Stone(foundation), Bleached Bone, Skull White, Gryphonne Sepia(wash), Iraqui Sand(Vallejo paint, it's a tan darker than the bleached bone)
Steps
1: Basecoat the robe in Dheneb stone. Make sure You get a nice smooth coat. I usually do 2 coats. 2: next is a nice wash with the gryphonne sepia over the entire area. 3: Next I do a drybrush with the Iraqi sand. When drybrushing remember the harder and more you go over an area the more heavily shaded it will become. 4: After your happy with the level of shade repete with bleached bone. (it's recomended to add more layers of a Iraqui sand/bleached bone mix for a smoother blend of colors) but dependeing on how you do your drybrushing you may be pleased without the extra layers. 5: after your happy with level of shade do a final level with skull white. Remember not to over do his layer. If you keep less paint on your brush you can control the effect more c
mess around with the colors and your drybrushing techniques and it's fairly easy once you get the hand for it.

So, to dumb it down for a painting klutz like me:
Dheneb Stone - Wash with Gryphonne Sepia - Drybrush with bleached bone/white.
Did you do more consecutive washes after each drybrush?

I didn't. But if you do, I would do a wash of watered down beached bone to keep the robe more white/tanish
