We should have everyone pick a color for their army and whatever territory they have will be colored that color.

Thanks Rod. Right now I'm just about done with the drawing and now just have to do the territory borders and the lettering and then it's time to break out the watercolors. If anyone knows of any sites where they have some good examples of alphabets (fonts) for the lettering, I could use it. I'm going to try printing out a couple tomorrow and experimenting with copying them. I'm going to try and take a picture of the map after I'm done with the penciling and posting it here

Basically because it would be unfair for stick someone with having to make difficult terrain rolls just to get in and out of their HQ territory, and for armies like dwarves, who don't have to make them in the mountains, they would have the unfair advantage of having an HQ that people would have to make difficult terrain rolls in order to invade, when all the others don't, so it's just easier to have everyone with HQ territories in the same type of open terrain. I think one of them is a bridge territory, but that's ok because it can be attacked from either side of the river, and therefore would not need a difficult terrain test for an army to invade it.

I posted a response in the Map Campaign thread in the Fantasy section, so as to keep the general campaign discussion in one spot

Ok after taking a break for a couple of weeks to prepare for and run the Shellendrak games I've gone back to working on the campaign map and have just finished with the penciling. I am now about to move onto the watercoloring process using the methods detailed in the Generals Compendium as a guide. I wanted to show off a pic of the work in progress, though. Here it is:

I used a camera for it (as you can probably tell), so a lot of the detail is lost, especially with some of the lighter pencil strokes. Once it's done I'm going to have the image scanned in so that it will be a lot higher quality when posting it online.
