Yeah, they're d6+1, but I don't really care if they kill anything...if they do, it's gravy. I just want them to stay alive for a turn. They're Unbreakable, so great for holding up static infantry blocks (especially low S elves!) while a flanking force sets up.
And they're dead-sexy models!

Say Bri, how did you get the picture above your signature. I love that, and I think I might photoshop something with some of my minis or terrain pics.

Witchcraft! I got lucky by guessing the forum code [ IMG ] -enter the url to the picture here, upload it to photobucket or some other photosharing site as a jpg or another simple file- [ /img ] I think that's it. You need to take out the spaces between the brackets first, and I'm not sure if there's a dash on the second one. Let's find out!

Heh heh heh. I was looking through the pics on that site the other day and I immediately thought of that one when I read your last post.

Alright, returning conversation to my Warriors of Chaos now.... Opinions on Chaos Trolls? I need some more hammers in my list, desperately (as of now I really only have the Knight unit, I want another one or two at least). How many basic Chaos infantry blocks should I have? Is 2 Warriors blocks and 1 Marauder Block enough for 2250 points? Should I opt for more, or less? The DP that Bob advises me to get is nearly a quarter of my army all said and done, which kills me. We'll see if I keep it, I've been thinking about Vilitch as he offers similar spell casting nastiness, without all the big monster nastiness. Gotta test 'em out. I'm also trying to determine whether I want to go magic heavy (add in another 1-2 low level sorcerers to follow around the Nurgle guy and the DP, to hit really hard in the magic phase) or balance things out more.

The two warrior units will need to be used as hammers to earn any points...if you want another fast hammer, drop a warrior unit.
Trolls will require constant babysitting of general or a character in their unit or they'll be stupid and never get anywhere. I think a unit of 3 or 4 trolls can be really effective, especially if you can get them to make some regens and get some fun EoG rolls!
More balance is better, IMO. Magic is too random and easy to have your wizard blow his own head off instead of something productive. If you're going with a wizard lord, getting the DP with Tendrils is the way to go: allows you to safely throw 5 dice at something with minimal risk of miscast. A lvl 4 sorcerer that can't safely use his level four-ness isn't worth his points.
Something else about trolls: they're not cheap. Throgg rules.

Would buffing one of the Warrior squads to monstrous sizes work better? Instead of having 2 units of 15 maybe one big unit of 25 that's packing a whole lot of hurt? I imagine that would be a nasty anvil...
I'm guessing that also means that the cheaper Marauder blocks would be better. Perhaps two of those instead of 2 Warrior blocks in 1500 points?
