No, that's way too many points in an M4 unit. It can be march-blocked and ignored the whole game, and there's your 400 point unit, doing nothing. Two 11-12, 6-wide, make admirably hard units that will dish out a lot of pain and can take a lot of abuse. 15 is great, if not using any expensive heroes they'd be a lot of fun, but trying to fit in pricey DP or Sorc Lord, you have to trim something somewhere... Marauders aren't going to win fights on their own...Warriors can. Apples and oranges.

Having a 6 wide unitworks really well with my Sword masters. They have great weapons and attack first with 2 attacks. That's 12 great weapons hitting first. You won't have anything to fight back with. But they always seem to get stuck fighting with large units of weak peole where they cant use their str to their advantage.

Okay, I may look into the smaller, wider units then to save points for my heroes.
Mhm. But they (Marauders) do make decent anvil's right? They're a LOT cheaper than the Warriors which is a nice thing indeed, and I'd imagine with the MoK and flails they could beat up the enemy if they get the charge.

If you're giving them MoK and flails, they're not an anvil anymore.
But a big unit with MoS with a wingman of Warriors to flank charge whatever the marauders are dealing with is tasty.
