May 25th is good for me, I'm in!
Will this be built into any sort of league play throughout the summer? No timed turns sounds fine, round limits are good enough. Definitely pick the simplest scenarios from the book, some of them are really complex and the scoring rules in general are a little foreign to new players (since they're not in the main rulebook). Just a way to give the game a way to end, if someone wants to run away/super camp their 'caster.
25 points, eh? Let's see what I can have painted by then...

I'd recommend choosing some of the steamroller scenarios since they aren't as complicated as one might believe (Incursion, in particular, is pretty simple to understand).
Also I'm worried about the lack of timing. Why not use the deathclock format so that we can make sure that rounds don't last forever? That way people will have plenty of time if they need it during their turns but we don't have games time out because one player decided to use up more than their share of the round clock. We can even bump up the time on the clocks if people are worried that there wouldn't be enough time for newer players.
Also, will there be multiple lists allowed (with only one caster) or did you mean that you can only bring one list with one caster?

Kate and I will be moving to our new condo at the end of May, so unfortunately I will not be able to attend.

Well as with any of our tournaments, I'd like to have an overall time limit to the round. However, I'm not a fan of timed turns because they benefit armies that are low model count. Not only that, but the turn limits for 25 points. is 5 minutes. Even if we doubled the time limit, 10 minutes per turn seems pretty short. Judging by the size of the tournament, I don't believe that 2 lists are necessary.

Agreed on both counts. Round limits and a single list are fine, imo.

Not to stir up too much debate but I like the idea of a death clock. I we do 70 minute rounds each player gets 35 minutes. This allows you to spend more time on the turn you need to but still keeps the pressure on.
Just my 2% of 1 US dollar. I don't know about that day yet but as soon as I do I'll commit.

Ok so I've finally been able to sit down, mill through the Steamroller 2013 missions, and have picked the three that we will be using. privateerpress.com/files/Steamroller_2013_Rules_3.pdf As for timed games, I'm going to say 70 minute games, no turn by turn death clock. We will be using missions 1,4, and 9

I do agree with Tim -- Deathclock seems like a better system than timed turns. Scenarios look good Bobby! I might suggest bumping rounds times a bit (maybe 90 minutes), just to be a little more laid back. Whatever you think is best, though!

I can agree with that. The only issue is keeping track of that time system. I don't have chess clocks or 5 iPods with time keeping apps on them.

so who's in...?
