Very good job Tom, I love all the texture on the carapace, from the deep shadows on the recess to how you highlighted the raised points, very nice execution of the technique And rod was right....there's no going back now. This model took me close to 8-10 hours. Nooooooooooooo! You’re doom!! One of us, one of us, one of us, one of us….

It's been a while, but after a year's hiatus, and a house fire, these guys are back on my table, and I've made some progress. You can check back earlier in the thread to see how he used to look. Here is the rehab in progress. I need to do highlighting, and several washes before he is back to his original glory. I also bought another one and base coated him white, I magnetized him, so He has 3 sets of heads, and 3 sets of arms, to be a ravagore, carnivean, or scythean. I also bought and base coated a shepherd. (another recommended purchase from Bob) As you can see, the Chitin needs to be repainted, re layered, rehighlighted, rewashed and refinished. But he looks better than he did after the fire. I also worked on the Orgun warspears, and am about 2/3 finished. thanks to Arlin for suggesting a simple brown wash for the fur cape on the commander! The gold turned out nice I think I also worked on lylth I think she's a little ways off, but I'm making progress. spec says green for the cape, but purple seemed cooler. I also redid the bases as a very dark brown. Almost black. more to follow next week... Thredomancy!

Glad to see you back the horse, er, um, not heroin, the other horse, the hobby horse, not that heroin couldn't be a hobby I suppose if thats your thing.
Lylth is looking good. Liking the layers on her much cooler-than-green purple cape. Keep it up.
After that little tourney I got a little WM/H bug and have finished the bases on my 25 pt eDoomy list. Maybe I'll get around to posting it up.

Yeah Tim, I'd like to see some more pictures of your trolls. Seeing how you layered the skin gave me some ideas. is there a hobbytime video on how you do the feathering? I'm forgetting.

Looks awesome Mullane. I really like how the Ogryn came out -- the metal looks awesome. I'm with Tim, I think the purple cloak on Lylyth helps her to stand out more. Maybe hit her silver armor with a black wash to dirty it up a bit, if you haven't tried that already?

I might dry brush it with gold and then hit it with null oil as a wash. I was also going to do a purple wash on her hair.

Well, it only took a year, but my first Unit for Warmachine is totally done. The Ogrun War Spears.... Also Lylyth is finished. so there's that as well. Here are some close ups of the Orgun. I went with the cold theme, included some snow and funky plants which I thought complimented the bases nicely. I tried dipping some of the fern type plants into a purple wash to give them a blighted appearance, but I think I would need ink for that really. on some of the Carnivean's stands I might want some bones and such, I think rod mentioned he had some lying around specifically for that purpose. I definitely want to do some Tim style Gore on the Scythean when he is ready!

Man, these look awesome Mullane -- really, really good. I love the contrast of the skin and armor on the Ogrun... Lylyth's bow is really sweet too. The last thing you'll want to do is paint some arc markers on the bases, to differentiate the front arcs from the back arcs. Can't wait to see the heavies painted up... or better yet, see everything in person!

I have two heavies in progress. The Carnivean from the original starter set. And a new plastic model which I magnetized to be a ravagore, carnivean, or Scythean. I'm painting up the Scythean parts first. But the Carnivean was my first major Warmahordes model, So he took priority. Here is the finished result. He is now fully restored from where he was before the fire. I re-painted 2 coats of brown, drybrushed, highlighted, attempted feathering, but thought this looked a little better. I also reapplied a wash of Drakenhof nightshade on the skin, devlin mud on the shell, and fleshshade on the mouth. I kind of want some bones to complete the base, and was considering using the blood effect from GW to make him a real monster. Also, my wife said I should dull down the green shrubs on the bases of the Ogrun. what do you folks think? should I dull them up? I think the bright green contrasts nice with the snow and coloring of the models, but I can see dulling down the colors too. Scythean to follow tonight when I finish him, I also bought a unit of acolytes with a cauldron, some Stingers, a Unit of ARchers, and an officer and porter. The archers are now assembled and based white. I have a shredder in need of rehab but cant find his 3 brothers...hopefully they didn't get wrecked and are hiding in a box somewhere waiting to be found.

Looks awesome Tom! I agree the shrubs could do with some toning down due to it being a winter base. I have some brown/yellowish grass and some flock that might work perfectly if you want to meet at the store one night and try it out.

That looks awesome. That base work is amazing. Making me proud! The snow effect is spot on the bright green foliage brings some nice color and contrast. Excellent color theory work! The heavies are looking sweet as well. If you catch the red thirst and want to really gore up the faces let me or Brian know =D

I think I'm going to try some more elabrate feathering than the one I did on the Scythean. But He turned out pretty nice. I really want to gore the hell out of the Acololytes and their caludron of pus and grossness. So I will probably pick up some GW effect, unless you have another idea? I will be using some bones for the base, and a bunch of leftover heads. I am also thinking of picking up some Incubi and legionaries, if for no other reason than their exploding corpses are right on line with my "make the most disgusting Hordes list possible" motif. I am struggling a little with what color to do up the blast balls coming out of the ravagore and stingers mouths? I was thinking an electric purple? but any color theory advice is appreciated. The boxes have an eerie green depicted which I didn't hate. It also shows some light effect. I know you've done some of that Tim, particularly on the termis power weapons and eyes, but it scares me. I feel like if I screw it up it would be hard to fix?? advice appreciated. Here is the battle college ravagore, to give you an idea of the effect and color. battlecollege.wikispaces.com/mkiiravagore
