I don't think you went over the top with the damage. Still in the good but not overkill range. The right front shoulder looks really sharp. The free hand bits are nice as well.
The smoke/soot effect on the gun and exhaust looks nice as well.
My constructive advice would be on the gold. I'm not sure what it needs really but doesn't quite jump out like it should. Was the gold igt lighted after being washed? This is a minor critisism but that's what gets us to that next stage right.
Excellent work on these guys, I look forward to this secret project.
Edit: the blue eyes look good as well. I bet even better in person.

all very nice work Bri, you're really bringing your painting level up, although If I remember correctly your painting was already good, now with a few techniques is all of the sudden great.
I like the free hand you did on the Juggernaut's shoulders

Thanks guys! I'm going to work on making the red a little more interesting on some future WM models... I highlighted less hold on the Destroyer than I did on the Juggernaut, Tim. Was being lazy! Should I highlight before or after the wash? What kind of color works well... just reapply the burnished gold, or go with straight mithril silver for an intense highlight? Or mix the two? As for my secret project... ++Imperial contact with Vyras IV ceased two lunar cycles ago. When an Adeptus Astartes cruiser investigated they found that the atmospheric stabilizers had been sabotaged, plunging the entire planet into darkness. There were no signs of life on the planet, and the data records had been stripped bare and destroyed. By sheer luck one of the servitors managed to recover a brief data-image from a security feed... perhaps it would offer some clue as to the fate of Vyras IV...++

Amazing sneak preview. You write some good fluff!
Edit: also, I think a mix of gold and silver should do some nice highlighting. Play around and see. You're getting the eye for it, now trust it!

Well, the end of my semester was crazy and I didn't get as much painted as I had wanted. I have high hopes for the summer though, and lots to get done! - a few Tyranid models to match my current army list (Biovores, a Tervigon, maybe a flyrant? Probably another batch of gaunts as well). - finish the Hobbit set (All of the good guys, and some terrain... might be good practice for painting faces). - paint my Khador collection (I got halfway through my Winterguard unit at school... I have lots to paint, and lots to build as well. My priority is to get my Vlad3 and eSorscha lists off the ground). - paint my Blindwater Congregation! Yeah, that's right. I somehow avoided my better judgment and picked up some Gatormen to build a small Hordes army. Barnabas, his Blackhide Wrastler, and a Gatorman Posse are ready to be painted. I started working on my test model tonight... still not done, just blocking out the general colors. I like the tan/yellow and lighter green a lot, and need to find some way to highlight/brighten the big scales on his back. Pictures aren't great, but you get the idea. Not sure what to do for Barnabas. Could paint him much the same... could make him white/albino... could make him really pale, or conversely really dark... not sure on what would make him pop. My goal is to have these 7 models painted by Friday afternoon, when I leave for a week-long missions trip. Not sure what to paint when I get back... Finish my bugs first? Get to work on my Khador? Screw the practical stuff, finish painting the Hobbit set so that it's finally (and happily) complete? Help me out!

Gators are looking nice so far Bri Hmm I always find myself in the same predicament of what to work on when I've got so much that needs painting. What's the next tournament coming up? I would paint for that, or if there's nothing on the horizon, knock out the hobbit stuff so that way you've got that project out of the way

Those are sharp looking gators. Now time to get out the fine detail brush and highlight each scale individually.

No pictures this update, I'm afraid. Just posting my monstrous hobby to-do list to keep me honest! I've bought a ton of crap, and have a lot of catching up to do to match my pledge (does selling off models count against the pledge? ) In vaguely this order, these are my summer plans: 1. Finish building my two 50-point Warmachine armies (I have a unit of brass-rodded IFP, a unit of Nyss Hunters, a magnetized Spriggan warjack kit, and half a Beast 09 to go!). 2. Finish painting my 15 points of Blindwater Congregation. 3. Finish painting my third Tyranid Tervigon. 4a. Paint up (well, borrow Tim's airbrush to base coat!) some Gargoyles/Biovores/Zoanthropes/Genestealers/Moar Termagants for the new Apocalypse rules and to have on hand for tournaments. 4b. Paint up my two 50-point Warmachine armies. ~5. Finish painting my Hobbit box set (Thorin's Company and the terrain!). Then, build and paint all the awesome Lord of the Rings stuff I got from A-Bob at the bits picnic! Hopefully, the Warmachine stuff will be built and primed by the end of the week (the Iron Fang Pikemen require some really intense dremel work, and magnetizing the clamjack kit will take some time too... the Nyss Hunters are regarded as one of the biggest PITA infantry units to build in the game!). My Blindwater stuff is really close to being done, I have a little bit of detailing/touch ups to do but after that can varnish the suckers and call it a day (the Bull Snapper needs to be primed/painted, but he doesn't have cloth or metal so will go very quickly). My Tervigon looks awesome as is, but I need to fill out some of the small details -- teeth/claws, the weird biovents, and the carapace highlights. Nothing too crazy, but I'm still so burnt on painting the damn bugs Once I get those guys finished, I can start focusing on my big projects. Tim has been an awesome painting guru and helped me use his airbrush to do some really cool base-coat work -- I'm hoping I can throw a bunch of primed Tyranid models in a box, drag them to his place, and spend an afternoon getting them all three-colors base coated for future tournaments or a big Apocalypse game. The big goal is my Khador armies -- I'm hoping to get through the majority of my Warmachine/Hordes stuff this summer, and have it all set and in bags ready to be played. I have tons of cool Tolkien stuff that I'm excited for, but to be fair that stuff can wait until the fall when I get back to school (and the Hobbit movie anticipation ramps up!). So, now that I've posted my list, it's up to you guys to keep me accountable! Or place bets to see how far I get before I move back into school! I'm planning on a picture update once I finish building the remainder of all my Khador units.

Crappy picture, but I'm so excited about having finished this model! Cannot wait for him to hit the table. I've also been working on this, for a ridiculous 40k list I'm debating on bringing to BFS: Needs some weathering, free hand, battle damage, all that good stuff. I've got lots of projects I'm juggling! Gatormen are almost complete, my Khador stuff is all built and besides the Conqest totally primed and ready for painting. My Paladin army of awesomeness is being stripped of their old paint job to make way for the new shiny that may or may not make an appearance at BFS in the fall. Excuse me while I go play around with my Conquest while making explosion noises and humming the Pacific Rim theme.
